I recently developed a love of watches. To me, a well engineered and designed watch can be one of the most beautiful things around. more than a car or a yacht or a plane.
viewing a spinning movement is one of the most exciting yet relaxing things. Its strange that so much value is placed in items that perform their job less well than something costing 1/10,000th the cost yet the appeal is undeniable.
I will probably never own any of these but they are still so beautiful to look at.
So without further ado, one of my current favorite watches, out of a relatively big company, The Hublot Bigger Bang All Black.
A masterpiece from independent master watchmaker Thomas Prescher
A making of video from independent master watchmaker Benzinger.
The newest watch from small watch company Maurice Lacroix with square wheel
A cool commercial for the Grand Prix series of arguably the original creators of the Luxury Sports Watch, Audemars Piguet
Is that a gyro-gyrotourbuillon? lol. I'd love to see the square wheel on the first watch, I like seeing more mech in the watch. Also the gold mech watch, the really super-intricate one, is nice. But i wouldn't like wearing it. Overall I think the first one is the best, but that square wheel and the triple axis 'gyro tourbuillon' (haha) is probably my favorite.
Yeah the Hublot and the AP probably the most everyday of watches here. I like the combining of modern materials and aesthetics with traditional mechanics in the Hublot.
yes, technically you can call it a gyro gyro tourbillon.
The largest axis is on an hour rotation thus the arm of that axis acts as the minute indicator.
