Wouldn't you rather, I don't know, not be in Virginia?

I feel ya man. Went through the same shit back when I went to grad school.
I'd call and try to get someone on the phone though... no one is going to be working this monday.

Agreed - just be a squeaky wheel, and obviously be persistent - particularly with the Memorial Weekend coming.

My experience was the schools that were slow in responding were the ones that rejected me. Then again my deadlines were way sooner and I was busy visiting the schools that accepted me in March/April. So I was kind of aware at that point they probably weren't going to accept me.

Yeah I e-mailed Pitt about it already, we'll see.
zer0das: I'm aware it's a high probability, and I'd prefer not to be holding my breath, but CP is 1/3 the cost (btw I'm in MD not VA, cg) of UPitt so as much as I'd like to say "hi i'm going to UPitt" I'd really, really rather not have to bring down some big loans for it. If this were any non-instate school I'd already have said screw it I'm not waiting, but... ugh, yeah.

Yeah, College Park is ridiculous sometimes. Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with their admission process for grad.
You should call the dean of the grad college you're trying to get into and explain your situation if they're your first choice. Say you have a couple days to decide because other colleges are waiting on your reply.

Sit your ass down with Dan Mote and explain your situation... that man gets stuff done! That is... if he's still there not sure lol

Yeah I've already been in contact with my apparent advisor etc. It's bizarre, I dunno. Everyone from the school I'm trying to get into defers me to the grad school, which in turn tells me they can't tell me anything. They're quite aware I've got other schools waiting on them for replies, but they seem not to care. Well, they probably don't.

I am an undergraduate at college park right now, and I can assure you that it's not just the admissions department that sucks. Every class is full literally hours after registration opens. Until very recently only freshmen and VERY lucky sophomores could live in the dorms. Often times, you don't know your textbook until a week into a course, so you have to buy it at the campus bookstore to keep up (at 8x the price on amazon/whatever). Your grades aren't released sometimes until weeks after finals so it becomes nearly impossible to register for a class during summer or winter terms for which your current classes are prereqs. I go here because it's the only halfway decent university I can afford (if I had gotten into UVA I'd be there right now). I'm on track to graduate in 3 years (I have 56 credits after completing my freshman year) so hopefully I can get out of this hellhole before I jump off the top of my dorm. Unless you want to major in business (which means you should eat a gun right now anyway) my recommendation for anyone thinking of attending college park is to... not. Sorry for the late bump, but seriously. People need to know.
