Last week a couple of friends and I decided to form a team together to enter this 24 hour filmrace http://www.filmracing.com/Cities/sanfrancisco.htm Basically how it works is that you register a team and pay an entrance fee of $140 (there were eight of us though who split the cost so it wasn't too bad) after which you get added to an email list and are registered. Then at 10:00pm April 30th we got an email with a mandatory prop (a wig) and the mandatory theme (good bye) that had to be in the video to make sure no one can prepare a story before the designated time. Then we have to have a DVD of the video turned in at a designated drop off point by 10:00pm May 1st.
Everything went surprisingly smooth despite us essentially having to call up actors in the middle of the night to ask if they could show up to shoot at 6am.
edit: had to remove it, might get it back on later.
Hahaha. Yeah I see what you mean about the audio quality but pretty good! Not exactly to my tastes but well done considering the requirements/restrictions.
Nice work man. That was really well scripted. We had a 24 hour shoot competition for Apple a while ago and gotta say; it's really hard to get all the planning, recording, editing, fx, sound engineering and colour correction done with any sleep.
Thanks for the comments, and awesome video Sapraedon. You guys do those effects in aftereffects? Pretty impressive considering you guys had 24 hours as well.
Just thought I'd bump this since the awards got posted today (finally) and we got 2nd runner up, Best Leading Actor, and Best Writing (yay!). http://www.filmracing.com/Films/competitions/sanfrancisco2010.htm I'm pretty happy for how we did, although I'm a bit surprised with the decisions. The films that I thought were way better than ours and would sweep the whole thing are nowhere on the list, while the films that I thought were...well...not that good, ended up beating us/everyone else.
