Hi everyone! Today I got a beta code after preordering SC2 in a US gamestop, and well I wanted to give it a go immedietly.
I already downloaded a U.S. client before to play around with the AIs and watch replays, so I was looking to replace my Base.SC2Data file with a European one.
Being the retard that I am, I also changed the name of my enUS.SC2Data into enGB.SC2Data, and later into enEU.SC2Data.
Well, needless to say, it fucked up something in my game.
Since I don't feel like reinstalling and repatching again for 3 hours, I'm asking you guys, if there's a way to fix it?

If you haven't figured out what the problem is I'll tell you: instead of getting a normal game information like "damage 5" I get shit like "UI_colondamage=5" etc etc
It isn't game breaking or anything so there's no rush, I can play just fine, and already got used to it some, but I'd like to fix it anyway.
Can someone with the EU client send me the fully patched SC2
Base.SC2Data and whatever the enEU.SC2Data or enGB.SC2Data is?

It takes 1 hour at most, just disable P2P networking while you download.
It's a lot faster than fiddling around with uncertain stuff, seriously  (and a lot less work at that. Go and do something useful while it downloads)

Ok Naib I'll take your advice :< I'm going to go get some food while it DLs. Besides LOL, when I turned P2P off, my DL speed skyrocketed O.o before it was 25-60 kb/s and now it's at 177-250 kb/s, Thanks!

just a short question. since you said you wanted you replace the us client with the eu one i assume that you live somewhere in europe. are you sure, that you're able to play the us retail version of the game on eu servers too?
because this is bothering me at the moment. if i knew that i can play the us version on eu b.net after the release i'd preorder asap at gamestop.

Gamestop gives you a key. You tie that key to your Battle.net account. What server you can play on fully relies on the settings on your Battle.net account.
So you could just buy it from gamestop, make an account on eu.battle.net, tie the key to it, and have a EU account.

nono i'm not talking about the beta here. i'm talking about the retail game itself. will there be a difference between the US and for example the german version in terms of battle.net servers? will i be able to play on EU servers with the US retail game? that's what i'm talking about.

I would imagine it works much the same way.
As in, you can attach the key to your bnet id and the bnet id determines what server you can go on.(i still don't believe they'll do server bound keys though, if that is the case blizzard fails hardcore)
Maybe you'll have to download the EU client from somewhere if they do make region specific retail versions(again, i hope they aren't that stupid.)

I pre-ordered/bought the game at a US gamestop a few weeks ago. How did they go about giving you a beta key? were you randomly selected? they didn't mention anything to me about it
