So today I turn 20 (yes I know it's on 420), which I gotta say is a really weird feeling at the moment. Finally I can say I am no longer a teenager!
It's weird because in the past 2 years or so I have blamed a lot on the fact that I was a teenager, for example a horrible sleeping schedule (which I am sure I am not alone here), general lack of motivation compared to when I was in high school, things of that nature. Now I really cannot say that anymore :S. Even though 20 is just a number I already feel more accountable for my actions.
In terms of legal privileges, there are none that I have gained, but no biggie considering I am pretty much fully legal at the moment (well in Canada at least).
Anybody else feel the same way when they turned 20? Did anybody find being 20 much different than 19? Just curious.
Anyway, not that much of a special blog or anything, just felt like chatting about turning 20.
edit:
Happy Birthday to Roffles btw who I know has his birthday one day before me
See... once you hit 20 for me it was kinda a cool experience. It's really that last birthday that I cares about. Since my bday's in June its the summertime and I travel and work every summer, so there's basically no birthday celebration. Sorta depressing... but I'm 22 now, turning 23 and starting to feel oldish. Turning 20 is a cool time in your life... how did you end up celebrating?
A bit. To me 20 was the turning point from where I look forward to birthdays and being older and to where I really hate the fact that I'm not as young as I used to be. Turning 21,22,23,24,etc is not a fun realization; turning 14 is.
im weird with birthdays though, every birthday i've had has felt significant. i always stay up until midnight and count down, and when midnight arrives i get a shiver down my spine signifying my change in age.
I could buy booze when I was 20, so that was cool. I've kinda felt all the responsibility in my life is really just fucking with my head. I'm expected to do this and that because I'm over 18 and it's annoying because I felt like I haven't been done with being a kid yet. Eh.

The real shocker is that that feeling never goes away. Or, to put it the way it was phrased in a JAG episode,
"You know how it feels to be my age, 74 years old?" "No" "It feels exactly the same as it did when I was 20. The body just gets older."

Haha well, it's actually midnight here i.e. my birthday really hasn't started. I actually pretty well will be doing the opposite of celebrating; I'll be cramming for a final.

Happy Birthday! Sad to say that turning 20 kinda sucks, its right on the cusp of legal drinking however its still a whole 365 day away T_T + Show Spoiler +
dont worry 22 is worse tho, you actually start to feel old
It kinda sucks having your at finals time and all. I had mine a few days ago (16th), and yes I was cramming too lol. If you feel down about not getting to celebrate on your birthday, I can relate. You just gotta think positive though. When you do get to celebrate with your friends, it's going to be right after finals when everyone's the most psyched for partying. Your friends might also feel guilty that they end up celebrating with you 2-3 weeks later that they might do something even more extraordinary!
I think after I hit 16, I didn't want to get any older. I just turned 24 now and all I feel is older. Birthdays were certainly more fun when you're younger.

Funny enough, I probably wouldn't have done anything anyway, I am not much of a partyer
Wow guys so many nice comments...am I really in the blog section? Is this even TL? No auto 1/5 (lol watch it come now)? What is going on here...
Ever since turning 18, getting older has kinda sucked... At 18 I could start to drive, go to bars & buy booze legally, and got out of highschool then too. But ever since getting older is about thinking of what I couldve or shouldve done with all that past time, more than what new opportunities the future will bring.

Been on a crazy drug binge most of the time since i was 19 and I'm 23 now feeling very old. There was a joke I had with a friend though. He would always say he was an angsty teenager then he turned 20 so now he was just neurotic. I found it funny ;p
happy birthday 20 is a good year as those ez 18 year olds are stll viable prey :O gogo
Turning 20 made me feel old. I didnt like it. Every birthday since reminds of how old I am and the fact that I need to start accomplishing something real with my life. I will probably be one of those people who has a mid life crisis at 30 lol.
im 20 and i do think a lot what have i done these last years.. ive been in college and its been fucking great. Maybe not in the end of last year cause of some stuff but its been a million times better than 16 -17

Being socially-secluded due to academic distress has a way of getting in between and fucking up your college life indeed...
