Yeah, I've been working on low-poly models as of late. I posted two in my last blog, here's two more.
Xy`Kranasha Gorekhan, 6.8k poly You should see the resemblance of the b5 primus in this one.
And I just wrapped this guy up, though I'm gonna work a bit more on the engines. 31k poly for him, notably because of the high-detail turrets. Still usable in any game of my choice, though. Again, note the base design was based on the Albion from Gundam. This is a to-canon variant of a battleship from my novel.
I'm not an experienced modeler by any means, and I'll never be able to uvw or texture these. But I figured someone might find them interesting. This is the kind of stuff I put into my mods. Both of these models will be going into Sins of a Solar Empire sometime, and potentially Starcraft 2.
While you may consider the 31k poly model a little high for games, consider that this isn't 2001 anymore. Shadows and lighting make more of an impact than raw polycounts these days. Besides, I gear my mods towards high-end systems. It'll be a big ship ingame.
My GOD Imageshack is a piece of shit. Every single time I try to do something I'm sitting here waiting for 4-5 minutes until it times out or only loads halfway. And my album is like 80 pages long.
Two of my Undead ships in SoaSE. Note the broken ass textures. I have no idea why they have that coppery sheen to them.
And one of my other Xy`Kranasha ships ingame as well.

Excellent stuff. I'm guessing you're using 3dmax for your modelling, or are you using some kind of freeware? I seem to recall something like that around a few years ago, but I forgot its name.

I used Maya a few years ago and switched to 3ds max. But max has some irritating problems that are making me wish I had kept with Maya. Unfortunately the UI is so different for them and I am so inexperienced that switching back would really screw me over.

I have to wait on a friend to port my models from XSI (the max plugins are really broken, so we have to use the trainwreck that is XSI :\) to the sins format, something he's been slacking off at doing because he just got a new 52" TV and has been sucked into trying to stream video from his PC to his tv. Anyways, what this means is that my pipeline for getting content into sins is a bit of a mess, but once I have enough content in I'll make a trailer with fancy CGI bits and all that for the project. Other than that though I probably won't talk about it much because I'll be dropping it as soon as SC2 beta comes up.
It's a nice way to see my models ingame, though.
