Skill and Stat Potions Pack A different set of Skill and Stat Potions "Easy Respecs" and finally, The "unofficial" Respec Mod, which was actually uploaded by one of the Runic Games developers really early on. But my real point in coming over here is to mention there there are a lot of mods available for Torchlight, with new classes and dungeons and playing styles, which helps extend the game's playing time and lets you play however you want. It helps make up for the lack up multiplayer, although multiplayer is coming in the form of an MMO, if you really missing killing things with friends. It'll be free to play, and likely will be out before D3, so it's something to look into when the time comes. And the people on the Runic forums say hi: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11110 ![]()

My destroyer seems kinda strong though (one- or two-shotting bosses seems a bit lame) and the lack of multiplayer (even LAN, so I could enjoy some quality bashing evenings with my friend would be nice) and complete rip-off from Fate (mentioned earlier but without specifics. In Fate you also had your pet and fed it fishes to turn it into something else, sounds familiar?) are definite downsides. On the positive sides, well, the game brings back a lot of good memories (anyone played DarkStone? ) and is a fine thing if you're bored and just want to cause some havoc and feel invincible for a while.

He went on to say that he was probably the single person best placed to say that Torchlight exemplified the things he had once wanted Fate to be.

As far as actual game play goes, Torchlight is really fun, though. If you really just feel like killing stuff in a hack n slash game, it's a great way to blow off steam.

No one really expects this to be solid competition to D3, it's obviously marketed as a budget game to tide people over till D3 comes out (though they probably would rather people play their planned MMO version of Torchlight they must undoubtedly know that most will play D3 instead). BTW, of course the game seems similar to Fate, because I believe they're made by the same devs (some of which also came from Blizzard North, which produced D2).

"Notice how they went through a lot of trouble in sc2 to make sure you can clearly tell when shit dies or even wtf is going on" No way >_> And this game is fun for burning away time, but that's it. Just casual fun. Not that exciting as D2:LoD. Probably it's the graphics that take away the feeling of excitement.

I think there is multiplay and LAN but player base is close to nothing. This is like a game that you play single player just to kill time. I played this when I got bored of D3 and when my internet connection went down or just wanted to get some sleep as this is a good I want to get some sleep "make you sleepy game". It is also a nice feel good, I wanna kill shit and stuff, wanna diffuse my "SC2" pressure/anxiety game. Anyway, the engineer guy is really imba and the berserker can turn into a unli casting shadow wolf mage - so much for my melee skills. This game is a almost freeware / mod encouraged game and if you remember TL1 they had all kinds of mods and it was fun.
