Another year is coming to an end. For me personally 2009 was a lot weaker than 2008 in terms of quality music. But there were still a few gems of course, here's my top ten of best songs released in 2009:
Despite being kpop, this song is still great. Listened to it all summer, it's just so simple, catchy and fun (and no autotune thank god). I wish more kpop songs were like this.
The whole album is great, everyone should listen to it. I think this the first song in history with the "we will rock you" beat that doesn't suck (quite the opposite!).
I never keep track on when songs are released, so I'll just name the entire album "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" by Rammstein. Only one that I'm positive it's from 2009
Devin Townsends two new albums were really good. Can't really make a top ten though since i don't have any clear favourites except for Supercrush! off the Addicted album.

PP put it out again on Manners which came out this year. Acceptable imo.
And I'm going to have to listen more to this list. Empire of the Sun though, good album but was it really that great?
And I said in my Music 2009 Blog that I thought 2009 was the strongest year of music I've seen in a long time. Last year really didn't do anything for me, but I guess it was a different year across different genres.
Pretty damn accurate to what I'd pick without looking at my playcounts actually...
There are a lot of songs I like in that list. Phoenix - 1901 was also a contender for my top ten. I didn't know about Miike Snow, sounds great. The LoveLikeFire song is the weakest imo, can't really connect with that. Oh yeah and Grizzly Bear, I don't understand why they got so much praise, am I the only one who doesn't get them? D:

This thread and I do not share the same taste in music. But it is really interesting for me to know that these songs to some of you guys bring out the same emotional feelings that my favorite songs do for me.
