Alright, so when my finals are over in about a week I am going to read "World War Z: An Oral History of The Zombie War", and I figure maybe some of you want to read it too, and discuss it. So I am making it the second book for the TL book club. (I figure this is a good time for it since most people are going to be starting winter break soon.)
So if you want to join up with this, get your hands on the book before Sunday, December 20th, as that will be the official start of the book club.
FORMAT Here is the (tentative) format for reading/discussion in the discussion thread (which I will make later on).
Part 1: Chapters 1 & 2: Introduction & Warnings Pages 1-44 (44 pages total) Read 20th-21st, discussion on the 21st & 22nd.
Part 2: Chapters 3 & 4: Blame & The Great Panic Pages 45-104 (59 pages total) Read 22nd-23rd, discussion on the 23rd & 24th.
Part 3: Chapters 5 & 6: Turning the Tide & Home Front USA Pages 105-186 (81 pages total) Read 24th-27th, discussion on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th.
Part 4: Chapter 7: Around the World, And Above Pages 187-269 (82 pages total) Read 28th-29th, discussion on the 29th & 30th.
Part 5: Chapters 8 & 9: Total War & Good-byes Pages 270-342 (72 pages total) Read 30th-31st, discussion 31st till whenever.
For each discussion period everything up to and including the chapters for that part is fair game, so if you only read the first chapter of a part, read the thread at your own risk as there may be comments on the chapter you didn't read yet.
Discussion format is pretty lax, just comment on what you feel like, I'm sure there will be much to discuss.
Use this thread to discuss whether or not you are participating and why, and if you like the format or think I should change it.
Ooohohoho. That book is so good. Absolutely spectacular. I might participate just as a good excuse to re-read it instead of stimulating my brain with something new.
Ok, since it seems that lots of people have break starting later than I anticipated, we will be pushing it back and starting on the 20th. Editing OP now.

As comments like this are only detrimental to the book club, comments like this from names I don't recognize will be banned from my blog. Sorry, but it is hard enough to organize things on the internet without people trying to kill interest in them.
Edit: Well, after the club starts, feel free to share your opinion, no matter what it is, but before the club even starts when I am trying to get people interested it is just lame. (Not to mention I am like 80% sure he was trolling just to be a dick.)
Edit2: Also, if you spoil in this thread I will stab you to death.

You'll find it easily with Google.
Also can someone who has read this tell me what this book is about please and also why they thought it was awesome (alot of people are saying this book was awesome)? I might actually read this book if I knew what it was about, I'm currently already reading two, and I have some others lined up. If this is good, I might throw this book infront of the line.
Well, you could technically read the first 2 chapters anytime between now and the 21st, but on the 22nd we will be moving on to the third chapter, so you have to finish the first 2 on the 21st.
But yeah, the book will be read within the 10 days we have set aside for the club, not before.
Edit: I mean, if you want to read it ahead of time I can't stop you, just you will have to keep in mind that during discussion you can't talk about stuff that someone following the schedule wouldn't have read yet.

Is this still set to go? The 20th is coming up quickly. Also, could you schedule in a 2-3 day break from the 24th-26th so people have a few days to read without christmas stuff going on?
Pros of making discussion thread in general: People that don't check blogs will see it, will get more views from being in general.
Cons: I can't ban people from the thread if they are spoiling/not following the rules/being a douche in general (I could always pm mods, but no guarantee they will act on it.)
General moves quickly, so it will be bumped off more quickly, not sure it is a con, but just something to think about.
I'm assuming this isn't legal, so please take the link down meeple. A suggestion to google something is fine, but don't actually link to it, if they want it they can google it themselves.
Unless it is completely legal, but I really doubt that.
