right now im having trouble getting timing down for FADC combos etc... Whats the fastest way of getting good? Right now i just try to play games online then after 10 matches or so go to hard trials mode and practice some moves (so far i only beat ryu's 1st hard trial one lol... have had my ps3 & sf4 for almost 2 weeks)
I would consider myself a big SF fan/player growing up on sf2 and playing Alpha3 a good portion of my childhood. I never knew how important timing was in connecting combos until now
aim: wondurrboi psn: souljah_mark
if you're hella pro and u get me somehwat pr0 im even willing to donate on paypal XD

the fastest way to get better is to find a local arcade and go get your ass kicked over and over until you get good. arcades are totally different from playing online. plus, if you're lucky, there will be a crowd of people so you can watch how other people play and learn from them
also, talk to the guys who own you. people usually dont mind giving advice

Stick or pad?
As for execution, just go into practise mode and do it till you get it.

TE Stick uses real parts. SE Sticks uses imitation parts and had problems with their initial run where they broke quickly.

You should buy a stick immediatly if you want to take the game seriously. you don't want to get to used to pad. you can buy a cheap stick and mod it. (maybe get a se and mod it with sanwa (or seimitsu if your pachi xD) )

is it 1997? idunno where you live, but it must be heaven, cuz everywhere else, arcades are a dying establishment

doh im having trouble doing a dash cancel right after a special move + finish combo. Right now my best combo & prly one of easiest is RYU doing FA + dash + HP + light shoryuken + super. Other than that I pretty much cant do anything ill be able to cancel a shoryuken 1/10 times at will and why does TE cost 2x as much as SE lol... but i really want to invest in a good stick so i dont suck maybe?
also add my aim if u guys have it we u guys can kick my ass on PSN

Cause socal is arcade heaven

for the hp, shoryuken into super combo you want to do it like this
HP Tap forward qcf + jab qcf + any punch
Getting rocked in an arcade for $1 a match when you still dont quite have a good feel for your character of choice is a good way to go broke, don't know how good you'd get in the process
Also honestly I wouldnt suggest buying a $130 stick yet. If youre still playing in a couple months (not religiously, but its still a hobby), then it would be worth it imo

Buy a decent stick
Practice the typical moves so you don't look like an ass buffering your dragon punches by doing quarter circle back and forth.
Once you can execute what you want when you want consistently you can go mess around with characters and start learning mu's and combos.
A combo is shit if you can't accurately do it 99% of the time.
online is a bad way to practice little lags and compensations throw people off.
I really wouldn't suggest to buy a stick unless you have friends that come over and play when you have that a stick is a must or if you enter a tournament which is a good way to meet people. Else i mean doesn't it get a little lonely just playing strangers on line anytime you want to get good you need at least one practice buddy where you can play in a good setting.
I don't even play sf4 i stick to my old CvS2, MvC2 and ST

stop focusing on fadc type combos. those are great but mastering basic things like blockstrings, executing moves on both sides 100% of the time is far more important. I can help you if you want.
i'm on psn/xbox as Foxisquick. I'm for sure one of the better players online.
