I thought that this was a really fun 2v2 that my ally and I just played on ICCUP. I was extremely tired before the game (been up for 24+ hours) but I feel fairly awake now, I guess the game was pretty energizing . It's PZ vs ZZ; my ally and I usually play TZ with me T him Z, but we're practicing him P and me Z, and we are pretty clueless about PZ vs ZZ (pretty much the ONLY match we haven't played tons and tons of games of) but I think we did the right things.
There are some very very close moments and a few tiny actions had really big repercussions. Check it out if you have the time, I think it's a cool game to watch.
I'm Smashed in the replay.

Nice game. i don't think it was as close as you felt, but what I really liked was your "general" attitude, where you took control of the game through chat and directed the outcome. Very nice to read for someone like me who has no idea about 2v2.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll explain what I think are the very crucial moments:
I'll spoiler just in case anyone cares:
+ Show Spoiler + My ally waited for ol to leave to sneak 1 zealot to the 1 hatch teching Z. The time bought there won the game.
Then when the hydra Z came to me, his +1 armor had just finished. This makes it much harder to snipe hydras with a group of 11 mutas. My ally barely had stormers at my base in time to save me, and I was left at 26/1 pop (0 ols), 3mutas, and something like 8 drones. My ally had only just expanded vs 3 base 5 hatch 1/1 and almost 2/2 hydra, with a crazy drone saturation. He had really good storms and that was the only thing keeping us in the game. When Z came to me again the cannons finished with literally no time to spare, and the HT left in my base laid down 1 storm that made a big difference.
I don't know, even objectively analyzing the game outside of playing it I think it was extremely close. Had even 2 more hydras lived than did in the first attack on me when I had 3 50% hp mutas left, the Z would have won very very easily vs my ally. The threat of my muta mobility bought the time to win the game.
Of course about 5 minutes before the game ends you can tell we'll win, but for about 7-8 minutes in the middle it's very uncertain that we'll win.

Thanks for the explanation, I will go watch the rep with these things in mind. As I said, I really am clueless with 2v2. I think the ebb and flow can be so dynamic though, having to keep up with two separate builds. As you said, when you saw that cancelled lair into hydras... "gay". It was really a twist in the game.

Pretty close game imo.
+ Show Spoiler +The one zealot at teal killing drones REALLY helped. It also stopped him from mining for like 25 seconds. Also the dt on the ramp at teal ensuring his death was really good too. Was entertaining to watch the skirmish at the zergs base with the storms and shit since the orange hydras were 1/1. Like one or 2 more alive hydras at near full health could have determined the game.

So gosu. O_O
Yes, I'm stalking you for 2:2 knowledge, even if I'm only playing TZ. =S
|
could you pretty-please start a 2v2 ZP section on liquipedia?
|
Or post that 2:2 strat guide you said you were writing? O_O
Still looking forward to that.

Yes I feel douchey because I kept saying I'll write it and keep putting it off as work piles up on all fronts, but now that I'm back on ICCUP that itch is kicking in again and I think I'll try to write it out over this week and the weekend.

This is ending up being stupidly long due to my rambling strategy

I have lost every TZ vs PZ versus a half decent team. I probably need your insight more than anything on this MU. It probably help that some of my allies don't know how to approach the matchup either. ~_~
