And people get hung up on the hyperbolic comments because they were of the classic “none of this matters and you are silly for getting worked up about it”.

Because it’s not like people known when the president is going to decide sign a budget. And that somehow federal workers are these magical people that are not a majority of working class Americans. If it's a huge deal there's a few million people that have been waiting for this type of energy and will wonder where it went after the government opens.

It's not the economic inconveniences that has people bothered primarily, it's who is experiencing them. It's been a theme the whole Trump admin.

People's misfortune has been disregarded in far more flagrant ways without consequence, what changed from my perspective was who's misfortune was made to seem insignificant. If the same standard is going to be applied to all peoples fine, if it's just for US fed workers that's kinda a dick move just my $0.02

This was my perspective as well after reading back a few pages. I remember several posters alleging the 2016 election was gone for Republicans because Boehner’s house shut down the government over Obamacare funding/etc. Clearly, that was a bit exaggerated. If the perspective is allowed that this one and past ones will have deep political ramifications, surely we can tolerate the perspective that it won’t fucking matter because nobody cares. It may seem insensitive or whatever, but as aforementioned, these happen all the damn time. I recall the past ones number in the dozens, but couldn’t tell you for sure which years and which principal figures for more than maybe 3-4. If anybody here can tell me how deeply they hurt for the federal employees and recall the stories hardship every time and of course they were monumental, then go for it.

Seems Kadaver and Introvert had a good pm chat after the fact, so I think everything should be more or less good?

This is the first I heard there was an exchange of PMs and they were mutually advantageous. Website feedback: Ban note was shit and needs explaining.

By the way I chose not to come back to the thread and I stay banned as to not get tempted to argue there for reasons laid out a dozen times Just for a moment of reflection someone want to find me the best criticism of Democrats in your thread out of the last 10 or so pages (go back as far as you need to find one though)? You could also look for a page that isn't talking shit about Trump/his supporters. It might help folks understand the feedback provided previously.

It’s not surprising, but, well, here we are. I'm confrontational, hardheaded (the stubborn connotations), talk a lot of trash about Democrats and relate most issues back to how I see them connecting to capitalism and other social phenomena. Can people from the thread identify some of the valid criticism of themselves? Farv suggests the outlook is not good.
