I think I see a pattern here. I expect FD and Tester will go compete in more international tournaments for easy money and good for them. They will never impact sc2 the way more passionate and driven players will. FD average pro gamer? nope. Tester was much better than him.

hmmm....I wonder what the future of TSL will be? Is it possible they might pick up some of the current Brood War pros this fall? Will all these players that leave TSL join up with MVP or SlayerS?

As long as their and Rain's departure doesn't have something to do with behind the scene issues I think this will be benefit TSL in the long run. I think we all remember Cool's infamous interview where he said he didn't practice as much because he was always snowboarding or partying. Hopefully the team is adopting a more rigorous practice regiment and that's why they left. Haha, Fruitdealer. Such a baller. You don't happen to have that interview?

He talks about how he used to leave comments on PlayXP like "die hongun lol" while he was drunk lmao.

fruitdealer has always been one of my favorite korean zerg's since GSL 1. Sad to see him leaving such a great team.

Maybe if FD was on the same team as Nestea, he would get competitive and practice more =P Just a thought haha

I've been down on TSL for a while now. They seem to severely underperform and i've questioned if they're even taking it seriously. I hope this doesn't mean that Fruit and Tester were part of the problem, for their sake anyway. But if TSL come out of this stronger then that's a good thing.
Not sure how i feel about this, but GL HF to everyone involved.

I can't imagine them winning much of that "easy money" either without improving a lot first. Even at they're level they're far far above the average foreigner, and equal or a little below the top foreigners. They'd still make easy money. Not nearly enough to justify the salary they gave up though. I don't really know what you mean by "average" foreigner - can you name one? Right now I wouldn't be so quick to bet on them against Nerchio or Happy in online tournaments for example. In their current shape (and without team house training), they're nowhere near equal to the top foreigners, and then there's also a lot of actually good Koreans who play in western tournaments regularly and will stand in their way to "easy money". Easy money is just an illusion. Money comes to players who work hard enough, and only them, and it's never easy. Not even MC gets it that easy (or enough to rely completely on the foreign scene). Does anyone know how much money they were making, really? That's a geniune question, I have no idea.
3) There are currently 9 players playing for the TSL as of now. The two highest paid players will be Kim Won Ki AKA TSL.FruitDealer and Seo Ki Soo AKA TSL.Trickster, with 35,000,000 KRW (around 31,000 US$) and 30,000,000 KRW (around 27,000 US$) a year respectively.

I think Koreans are understanding even Code-A champs like MMA can win in MLG. I think they'll most likely join foreign teams.
Poor TSL

Thanks!
If they get to keep their tournament winnings, that's not so bad, considering they get room, board and meals on top of that.

The LiquidFruitDealer sounds pretty baller to me.
|
I see a highly ranked fruitdealer on the Chinese server:
http://www.sc2ranks.com/cn/381970/Fruitdealer#6:2011
It's been active since April, but it looks like there's a huge spike in activity from June 5th. Is this a known account of FD that he just uses to mess around with, or is it possible the foreign scene he is thinking of entering is China?
|
Will this mean we will see Fruitdealer in the future? If he doesn't join a team, would suck for GSL.
|
Fruitdealer to startale so both July and FD can combine as one!!
|
|
I just noticed... With the departure of Rain, one of their most famous terrans left... With FD and Trickster, it's the most famous zerg and protoss players... Not sure if TSL will last much longer. Reckon Rain might've jumped out for the same reason, only earlier?
|
Tester and FD weren't amazing players. Tester has been very very mediocre since early in the GSL, and FD has been performing poorly... well, since about the same time. Rain was quite a loss, though. He might've been cheesy and aggressive in most of his play, but he was consistent and had the actual skill to back it up.
All in all, the timing of these departures suggests TSL might be having internal problems, but, assuming they don't lose anyone else on their current line-up, they should be able to stay competitive.
|
TSL going to be dead soon imo. The only thing I worry about is that it may mess up the GSTL. The team has been severely underperforming for a while now.

I actually think Cool works better with clan tags...FruitDealer sounds better on its own IMO.

Seriously doubt it considering the Liquid-oGs partnership; these guys did leave oGs to start their own team.
Fruitdealer is currently an irrelevant figure in SC2. He captured the first GSL from taking huge risks and earning huge windfalls; there was nothing special about his playstyle. Lack of practice and discipline has only hurt his play, and honestly you can't expect a person to remain consistent when his success has relied on constant gambles.
I hope he finds a team that will whip him into shape, because FruitDealer has so much potential that his laziness is wasting.

No they won't. Mama bear will just recruit new talents and TSL has been performing well in the NASL Open qualifier. 4 TSL members in NASL season 2 and atleast 1 of them will play ret in the ro16. FXO Qualifier and we have a TSL member iirc.
Only the players that were underperforming are gone. TSL will rise no doubt about it.
