I'm sitting here at school, blazing a path of victory through the A+ course. I'm currently working through something called LabSims, which is a simulation that allows you to hook a computer up in a virtual environment. In the tutorial videos, the man was explaining how to hook up a computer, and referenced the male and female ends of a cable, and I just thought it was interesting how the terminology for these connectors came about..
The A+ course itself is actually quite easy. It's a self-paced course, and it's a lot of reading. The book itself is the 7th edition, and is about 1300 page long. It's not that the book is long, but the content is very dry, and I came into this course knowing a ton about computers and the industry already..
And that is why I'm sitting here blogging as opposed to reading.
Good thing it's friday. Friday. Gotta get down on friday.
You see....when a male connector and a female connector fall in love, the male connector inserts his thing into the female connector, and then bits start zooming all over.

Oh man you are so right. Reading that book is a horror and almost makes me hate computers. Then I put it down for an hour and it wears off. =D

It's intergrated into my Network Engineering course, don't really have a choice
"herp derp VGA cables herp derp this is binary herp derp types of networks herp derp"
I took it in...my Junior year in high school, IIRC, as part of a computer engineering course.
...My teacher was pretty cool though and was like "I know you all know this crap already, pass the test and you can do w/e you want in the class" so we just played Brood War. Hahaha.
