cara bel, cara mia bella mia bambina(my pretty dear, my pretty dear child )
Que lastima(not italian. maybe is "che la stima" - that she admire. but if is spanish is "what a pity") Que lastima
oh cara mia addio...la mia bambina, cara perche non passi lontana, si lontana da scienza (oh my dear farewell, my child, dear why dont you stay away, yes away, from science)
cara oh mia bambina (dear, oh my child) oh mia cara oh mia cara (oh my dear) oh mia bambina (oh my child) cara (dear) cara
My reply to the above spoiler. + Show Spoiler +While I thought so too at first I don't think the timeline works out for that to be true. GLaDOS was based on a woman who was working for Aperture back in the sixties. Chell was in grade school when GLaDOS took over the facility in the following millenium, (one of the potato battery science projects is by a girl named Chell). Caroline/GLaDOS would have been too old at that point to be her mother as she would be in her 50s at least.
+ Show Spoiler +not sure what kind of calculations you are making, but im pretty sure glados was indeed chell's mother and Cave Johnson the father.

I'm playing through the game (for the first time) on my youtube account with some commentary. If you're not afraid of a strong accent and wanna laugh at me failing the tests, I invite you to watch. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=61F8571989992A4C I'm uploading at a rate of about 2 videos per day.

Loved it, took me 8 hours and I don't for 1 sec. believe those who claim that it took them 4-5 hours. Great voices, humor and puzzles. Clearly everyone is lying. Much like cake.
The Steam timer is actually wrong.
Can't remember where I read it but some people took 10+ hours to complete Portal 2, but the steam timer stated only about 4-5 hours was played.

I assure you that the 5 hours that it took me to finish the game was not 10 hours. I think I'd notice the difference.

quality > quantity
plus, between achievements, easter eggs, dev commentary, co-op, there is plenty of stuff to do/explore and more will be added..

I'm not complaining about the length at all. Portal 2 is indeed A+ quality.

4 hours remaining. Anyone from Australia know a good steam server location to download it off?

Good game. Kinda regret spending $50 on it though. I have already beat it and almost finished co-op and don't see much replayability in this game. Hope they add alot more stuff.

wow that ending was worth every fucking cent
really great game, little easy and short though and the white fluid was fucking annoying and not fun at all :D
now heading to coop
+ Show Spoiler +is it possible to survive 10 seconds in space? i wonderd that often since "event horizon" movie where someone also survives a moment in space. i thought the lungs would explode immediatly

Haven't had enough time to check out coop mode yet, but the campaign was worth it for me. I saw the ending coming from an hour away but the level design never felt repetitive.
My only complaint was the lack of reaction based levels. The only 2 levels that I tried to tackle with quick reactions I could have cleared with + Show Spoiler + in 5% the time.

just finished playing through the single player and loved it
hardest level for me was chapter 8 chamber 16
loved the new voice actors and they did amazing
I may have slightly liked the portal 1 ending better but overall I'd say portal 2 is actually a better game which is pretty amazing because portal 1 was great itself
|
btw did anyone notice wheatley sounds like ricky gervais?

I wouldn't say that Portal 2 is better than Portal 1, literally the only flaw I saw in the sequel is that the learning curve spiked towards the end. It went from being a breeze to spending anywhere for 10 to 20 minutes just trying to figure what i'm doing, let alone accomplishing it. However, the ending is fucking amazing, the way they explained every aspects made the suspension of disbelief not noticeable in the game and felt like this is the way things were.
I would say that the portal series is by far one of the best I've ever played. they're short, but sweet and have so much depth and personality that it's an instant classic. Some of the puzzles are genius and probably the most fun I've had in a FPS in long time.

Just watched part one of a playthrough on YouTube, and man, I'm fucking psyched.

oh shit that's him that's so awesome! i was thinking just like other guy it was like a Ricky Gervais type impression. that's so cool to see it was Stephen I love him in idiot abroad and that radio like show they have as cartoons. (seen it on HBO? and youtube)

Took me 7 Hours to complete it, mostly because i got stuck on some levels because i was thinking far too complicated (hell, i got stuck for 5 minutes on the broken bridge where you just had to press jump on the blue goo because i thought the distance would be too far, so i tried to jump on the blue goo on the wall to bounce over, etc.), so i think 5 Hours is possible.
I was a little disappointed because IMHO there was too little content for 50 Euro, though there is still the coop left.
I don't think every game has to be a baldurs gate in content, but there are cheaper games that offer the same amount of fun for a longer time and i don't like to pay 30 Euro more just to have fancy graphics.
In summary: - The Tests were mostly too easy, some hard ones are in the mix but for 90% i didn't even have to start thinking, even for later ones. - Too easy bossfight in the end. - Story... well, it's just a minor point in Portal anyways, so i'll just ignore that point. - Coop looks promising, but haven't tried it yet, just seen some videos on the BlueXephos channel. - 50 Euro is at least 10 Euro too much.

- 50 Euro is at least 10 Euro too much.
Which is why I only paid €40 for the game at Saturn.

Any co-op newbies wanna play? I've played through it before, but happy to help others through (I won't be bossy, I let you try work things out). LilClinkin on steam, pm me for game if you want. (I don't have a mic).
