Odoakar why not at least show this stuff too?
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/10/03/the-sunday-papers-139/
"The Hathor legacy on the sexual harassment of female players over in the Team Liquid forums. Bad to begin with, it only escalates when some Team Liquid Forumites escalate in a move which doesn’t exactly highlight their tactical genius."
Inside the quotes are two hyperlinks to the articles that you already linked to.
edit: btw we are already aware of that

Yeah, The Sunday Papers on RPS contains a mention of the story with 2 links to Hathor website, as I mentioned. Didn't see it as crucial to this story, but it's probably good to have all the info gathered in one place.
And yeah, I presumed mods were aware of this, but wasn't sure if community is as well.

Wow, I just read all of this and they're just oblivious.
They seriously thought that first blog was some girl being mistreated? Haha
|
So an organization that is hell-bent on complete equality (which is a topic I'll save my venting on, ftr) is saying that TL sexually harassed someone? Why does it matter, exactly? Like honestly, there are people who are psychotic everywhere who will spew anything to get a quick hit.
People could say that TL is anti-semitic, racist, sexist, homophobic and a million other things if they just search for the right thread. By giving them the time of day, you only help them out.
Let them wither back into nothingness.

If anyone thinks the TL mods are disrespectful in any way, then it's great they are not on this site. Just read through one page of what goes on here and you will see 3 or 4 red bans notices. These guys clean shit up. Now read through the B.net forums. Yes, sometimes they miss things, and sometimes they are just playing around, but really, in the long run it's just a plain fact that the TL mods do sooooooooooooo much for keeping this site clean it's not even funny. If those people cannot realize how much they've actually done just because of one or two instances (and in one of the instances they site it even has Manifesto tell people to stop...), then it's a sad truth that they aren't smart enough to be around here. It's silly how much evidence there is that the mods are doing everything they can and if someone cannot recognize it they are either fools or fooling themselves. Seriously, go read through a few threads if you don't believe me. I love the TL mods for keeping TL 99% clean. Best the internet has.

can anyone take them seriously? I mean really? Trolling on the internet, shock horror! Also since when does the actions of a few users reflect an entire forum? Ridiculous.
|
I guess they didnt read the line at the bottom of the site "The opinions expressed by our users do not reflect the official position of TeamLiquid.net or its staff."
But its the internet where everyone is serious, its pretty lame of them to tarnish the sites rep. This actually can affect TL from a sponsorship view and future tournaments.

LOL mOnion. "Alright...so, I have this mp3, of someone saying "lady make me a sandwhich, but I can't find it cause its buried within my porn and stuff."
Ahahahaha. Both articles are so hilarious, why do they even bother with teamliquid, which isn't exactly "an important area for gender equality." Everyone who goes here knows that that one blog was just "joking" around due to the fact so few woman play starcraft.
|
somebody should link that organization to 4chan. they should find enough there to keep em busy for years. could also result in some funnies.
but yeah, thats really really stupid. they should do something better with their time like helping women that really were raped/abused whatever. how much i hate those pseudo groups that just do random shit to hi5 eachother instead of doing anything that might be helpful to others.

Why pick TL out of all the game-related sites, twice? Seems kind of fishy.

They got banned from here for saying offensive things and dealing threads into Tarran OP threads. Bliz forums didn't ban them. Better target == TL

TeamLiquid oppressing women, get real.

I always find it to be little sad that a whole site gets blamed because of few "show us ur boobs or gtfo" people.
BUT
I'm not really familiar with the hathor site but reading their some stuff they seem little off and quite frankly just feels like a anti-men club but maybe that's just me.
|
It is rather sad seeing this stuff but it's hard to stop people who read what they want to read, and once they are done with this blame hundreds of thousands of people for the 10 replies they didn't like.
Best thing is just not to pay any attention and move on.

|
All we want to do is play starcraft. why do they continue to bother us? not the site, but women in general..
(shame that I should have to put this, but its sarcastic irony)
|
I can't believe this is still going on. I think it's best to just let it go. And I will start by not writing my rant about how hypocritical they are.
Maybe this whole thing will just die in a fire.

She's blended our 120,000 members into a single misogynist bastard. It's honestly best to just move on and not fuel the fire.

Do not judge us for 10-20 assholes. That's what I call bad reporting.
