Unfortunately, I have to call into question a few of her answers though. No progamer has ever flirted with her? I call bullshit. Fine, she's no Jessica Alba, but she's definitely a lot prettier than most girls. Spend all day playing with guys and of course they're going to think about you. So many guys right here on TL.net had major crushes on Zia and "her" pictures weren't even close to Tossgirl's.
Well considering the fact shes in a house full of shy(expect july ofc hes a pimp) nerds that doesnt really suprise me.
Or maybe the guys are just being profesionall?
I mean some people might just consider it bad style to go after a co worker or the teams got policys against it?

People waaaay overrate Tossgirl. Sometimes it looks like people are afraid to say: "yeah, she is plain mediocre", because they think it might look sexist or something.
Well, when rating her as a progamer, purely based on skill, I don't care if she is a guy or a girl, she just plain sucks. Had she been a guy everyone here would be bashing her saying "TossBoy sucks", "TossBoy is just a big failure", etc. But just because she is a girl, she gets her piece of positive discrimnation.
You want to say she is very popular? That she brings certain intangibles to the table, that she makes good PR or is marketable? Ok, I'll admit it. She obviously has a lot more notoriety than any other player at her skill level because she has been hanging around like forever and she is fairly cute. But skillwise she is no better than your average terran struggling between the A-team and B-team of any progaming house.
She might be more pleasant to the eyes than RoRo. She might have a whole story behind her that makes her likeable. But she is NOT good. And she ain't getting any better after all these years.

i had no idea she had a twin.... even if she's a fraternal twin, that's still cool.
her mom shouldn't have to worry about them getting married. there's so many people for them to choose from

I actually liked this interview. Despite not really liking her, she came over as a nice, realistic person. I hope she will be able to control her nerves in the future.

Don't make the (foolish) mistake of assuming that BW players are all shy nerds, nor should you assume that professionalism will always prevail over hormones. I really think she was bullshitting.

There's no question that she's popular because she's profitable, but she definitely has earned her title as progamer.
And a lot of players struggling between A-team and B-team wholly speaking have the ability to be A-team. I think that Tossgirl is one of them. That's not true for all players in that situation. Sure, she'll never be a Flash or a Fantasy, but A-teamers can only be legitimately called "mediocre" when compared to the genius S-class gamers anyway. And I think she could be an A-teamer if she could complete her game.

thx good interview, good to see shes not giving up and still putting effort in starcraft.

shes not a big failure because she's the best female progamer out there. its like calling ret a failure because he cant beat b-teamers, even though hes the best in his class

Boyfriend? If not, what's your ideal? - Not at the moment. I'm conservative, so my ideal wouldn't be a flirty one or has many female friends around. I like someone that gives me his total attention. Someone who's inattentive and blunt to other girls but warm to me? It's nice if he looks good, but I'm not someone who's attracted by looks. Someone who consistently looks at me only. My younger sister and twin sister have the same idea. My mom worries whether any of us can get married.

Hahaha.... It's so sad that she's tried for so long and yet never achieved any success outside women's leagues... It seems like the issue is her confidence and maybe she could really use some kind of therapy to help her believe in herself rather than get frustrated as soon as she's on TV and the games aren't going exactly like in practice.
Hope her effort pays off eventually.

thanks for the translation. I always enjoy hearing more about the personal side of progamers' lives.

hahaha I guess no longer dating Calm ?
Thanks for the translation! One of the more interesting interviews since it wasn't specifically from a matchup

I really think her current mindset won't let her succeed. Practicing mostly by herself? Focusing on such trivial victories?
I'm still not over the "Reach promised me to not have a short game" thing quite awhile ago - so fishy.

thanks for this translation! a lot of interesting questions
i was pretty neutral toward her but reading her responses makes me not like her very much. the section about boyfriend sounds insanely needy/insecure/egocentric, and the answer about daughter/son becoming a progamer is just flat sexist. i mean, of all the people in korea that would understand a girl struggling in a male dominated arena, you'd think it'd be her, but she gives the most ridiculous, traditional, reinforcing gender role answer you could give. come on.

the section about boyfriend sounds insanely needy/insecure/egocentric Most women are anyway, no biggie there.
and the answer about daughter/son becoming a progamer is just flat sexist. It's not sexist at all, maybe it's exactly because of her experiences that she doesn't wish it on her daughter? My guess is she knows it's tough and just wants an easier experience for her daughter instead of constant frustration.
she gives the most ridiculous, traditional, reinforcing gender role Well, gee, a woman who wants her daughter to grow up a woman, and that makes you hate her? You're the one that sounds sexist if anything.

She sounds like a guy... Not a single word from the interview is even relatively "girly", except the part where she wants her daughter to be pretty. But I guess that's why she's better than other women at an RTS game.

Wow, thanks for this one.

I have to wonder how much of her "ideal" boyfriend is cultural. It's certainly not something you hear from girls every day, at least here in the states.
