Man, these lineups are so crazy awesome. Day 2 could have been better, but Day 1 is the day. OZ wins this day or they go home.
SKT1 FailZergs vs. ggaemo and killer. Admittedly not the most accomplished of players, but they still practice with Jaedong. They've seen more great ZvZ play than anyone else. At least one of these guys must win for OZ to have a chance.
Jaedong vs. Fantasy on Day 1 isn't important; it's insurance. If one of the FailZergs happen to take a game, but Jaedong also wins, then it all comes down to BackHo.
After his awesomely crappy performances a few days ago, I have zero faith in Lomo. I'm surprised that OZ didn't put in PerfectMan with some kind of prepared snipe build.
Bisu is not going to lose to Hiya.
That leaves BackHo vs. Best. Best is slumping, while BackHo is doing reasonably well. In the past, BackHo has been able to snatch games from Stork (mostly in GOM), but he isn't known for PvP. Best has the better PvP record, but he's sucking bad recently. Maybe a month spent practicing will reinvigorate his PvP.
The Ace match on Day 1 will require Fantasy; Neo Harmony is death for any Protoss. One of these players will be looking for revenge.
The Super Ace has a problem though: Destination. I suppose OZ thumbs-down'd Shades of Twilight due to the horrible PvZ record. But Fantasy is going to be out on Destination. Jaedong has a winning record there, and his most recent games on the map show strength. It's going to be interesting. Of course, they could send out Bisu, just to get the fated Jaedong vs. Bisu match underway. But I'm guessing they'll play the odds and go for Fantasy (though the outcome of Day 1 might decide that. If Jaedong face-stomps Fantasy, especially if he does it twice, they'll call for Bisu).
A lot of things have to work out right for OZ to win. Jaedong will have to go God-mode, but also their other Zergs need to step up against the FailZergs. And BackHo needs to steal one.
Day 2 is less hopeful, but there's still a chance.
People want to believe that PerfectMan is the ultimate sniper. But I'm pretty sure Bisu was watching that game. And I'm pretty sure Bisu was not impressed. Bisu is Bisu; PerfectMan will not snipe him.
Jaedong should roll up Hyuk; they've played before (unlike Orion).
BackHo vs. Canata. If OZ loses Day 1, BackHo must win this one. Canata has strength; BackHo needs to be at his absolute best here. Fortunately, it's Destination; he's got the map on his side.
Killer needs to win. Again.
I have no expectations of Hiya or Lomo doing anything but getting crushed. Yes, Best is slumping, but Lomo sucks; at least Best at one time was good.
If Jaedong, BackHo, and Killer take theirs on Day 2, then Jaedong will, without question, face Fantasy. They're not putting Bisu out on a map that has a 60% TvZ, but a 60% ZvP. There is one scenario that would prompt them to use Bisu: if OZ took Day 1. You are not going to potentially lose the Proleague Grand Finals in two Ace matches where the Last Dragon Bisu never played in either Ace match. Would you take that chance?

Best has a legitimate shot of easily going 2-0. Colosseum is like HIS map and well Lomo sucks.

Why call it TaekDusa(which is a stupid nickname in the first place), anyway? Bisu is 31-8 there, Flash is 19-4. And considering PvT imbalance, it should have a nickname after Flash, not Bisu. -_-

I can't imagine Lomo winning either of his games.

He won't. The only matchup he's actually good at is TvZ. Sub 50% for both other MUs, which is what he's playing against two players whose best MUs are probably vs T.

because 31-8 ist motherfucking impressive thats why. Also Flash not playing.

imho its pretty obvious: neo harmony is horrible for toss, so their the ace without a doubt will be fantasy. thats another reason why they sent out fantasy early on day 1, so he got time to calm down after his loss before he gets a second attempt in the ace. if he wins his first game there will probably be no need for ace anyway.
on day 2 the ace map is taekdusa which is bisus map. so he will be the pretty obvious ace. that again matches well with him being sent out early for his regular game to leave some time before the ace.
the super ace, if needed, is very tricky: if skt1 lost on day 1 it was probably because fantasy got 0-2´d by jd, so they might rather send bisu. if skt1 lost on day 2 that almost inevitably means bisu lost the preceding ace match. (almost inevitably because there is a very very slim, theoretical chance oz might take day2 without ace...lol) in this case they send out fantasy who should be doing fine in tvz on desti.
one problem i see though is bisus practice time: he gotta practice pvt for iris tomorrow and against hiya, pvp against perfectman and pvz against jd. fantasy plays jd in one of the regular matches anyway and will face him against the following week. as his tvt is great he can devote like 85% of his practice time to tvz, so maybe he is the better pick for super ace. any way i can very well imagine him taking at least 1 game from jd on day 1.
and i have to agree with some of the posters above me: dont underestimate the skt1 zergs. zvz is a coinflip naturally unless it involves either jaedong, effort or massive skill differences. none of these conditions is given here, so the oz zergs taking both zvzs seems rather unlikely to me.

This has to be 2-0 for SKT. I don't think OZ can get to superace.

Bisu lost to Jaedong last December, which was on Destination, the map that the super-ace match will be played on. Maybe that would change the coaches minds about sending Bisu in?
And by the way, if Kingdom quit as a coach to become an OGN commentator, is ilOveOov the new head coach?
|
Even if OZ gets to superace Bisu or Fantasy are fully capable of taking down JD. It won't happen though. SKT 2-0 and fully capable of winning superace even if they drop day 1.

PerfectMan will defeat bisu. no doubt about it!_! :D:D

No, because Kingdom was never the head coach.
