you should definitely get used to playing without acceleration, you will develop consistancy much faster and you will be more accurate in the long term. dont worry too much about accuracy straight away, find a setting which has a comfortable amount of mouse movement that suits you for the average mouse moves you make in game. you will get used to it within 2 weeks and ultimately it will be better longterm.

Vista, actually, but I've set it to Setpoint implementation anyway. It seems to work well. However, I have removed acceleration for consistency already. Thanks for the overall answer.

They tend to go on sale quite frequently but never really go down in base price. I bought my mx518 for $40 on sale and 3 years later, I still see it being sold at $80 =/

And you can start all over again with a higher sensitivity ![]() I'm kinda doubting this. I started trying this, and I can't figure out how I'd ever be able to micro at high DPI settings, not to mention that it hurts my wrist. On top of that, it is distracting and making me lose games, which makes me feel horrible. So new question, what exactly do the pros do? What is the absolute best way to set a mouse and what is the absolute best way to train for it? I don't want to learn any bad habits with this thing.

Also, I've tried a bit with high acceleration, and that seems to work decently well, in that I can control things without having to use a deathgrip on the mouse, while also being able to move fast enough to handle things.
