Rogues Gallery
Saturday, Oct 24 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
BACKGROUND
Considered a bit of a backwater in the professional StarCraft scene, North America has long been home to a few big names with even bigger personalities. Far from the spotlights of Starleagues, Rogues Gallery is excited to bring you an event with all the panache and professionalism of a back room poker game. Foul Play NA is a showmatch series that will pit kingpins of North American StarCraft against each other in a cutthroat struggle for street cred (and the winner's share of the purse). Step through the unmarked back alley door, pull up a chair at the bar, and enjoy the show.

Jaeyun
With a competitive career dating all the way back to a CSL championship in 2010, few players have had as much experience with both the competition and the community in NA as Jaeyun. These days JY can mostly be found clowning his ladder opponents on stream or chatting with his fans and students on his discord server, but don’t let the laid back demeanor fool you. His most recent BSL shows that he’s not to be underestimated and that he still has a few tricks up his sleeve. In a ZvT showmatch, expect him to take the game late where he can flex his multitasking and army control.
gypsy
Meanwhile gypsy is back in the ring after a bit of a surprising loss to StRyKeR in the first Foul Play NA. The canadian Terran was considered somewhat of a favorite, but he fell behind quickly in the series and was unable to recover. Since then gypsy hasn’t been playing in any major tournaments, but alongside his BSL casting he’s been streaming ladder practice every day like a man on a mission. Gypsy’s mechanical skill has made him one of the most feared Terrans in NA. Will he obtain redemption for his loss in Foul Play NA--or more importantly, his "game on, gamers" moment?

PLAYER INTERVIEWS
When taken in for questioning, the rogues of North America had this to say in their pre-game interviews...
Jaeyun
Hi Jaeyun! You’ve been involved in the North American scene for a long time. Could you give us a quick introduction for those that don’t know you yet?
Hi all. I'm a washed Zerg player who doesn't have a brain and complains a lot about his losses. You'll catch me playing PvZ sometimes having some decent success with it. Turns out P is pretty good for people without brains, can confirm.
You and gypsy are both big NA streamers, gypsy being the newer addition to the scene. How do you feel about this newfound competition (and keeping up with the subscriber count)?
I don't know, he's a variety streamer who primarily plays AOE3 and rants about Frozen Nutsacks with a bit of SC:R in between. I'm in his stream frequently but really I'm not watching or listening because I'm too busy @'ing tenderization or Nyoken. I offered to help with his stream viewership out by sending through some poppin music from my playlists but for some weird reason he denies it. Everyone loves my music, especially when 119 comes on (the 20 minute remix, not the original).
He likes to 13CC in TvZ a lot because he doesn't have the balls to play straight up without the econ advantage and Intrigue should graphically illustrate it via a Cheszz-length blog during the cast when it happens. Maybe I'll even pause the game and pretend like I'm taking a dump to give the casters some time to elaborate on it in real-time - that's not against the rules is it? As far as predictions go, should be a quick 3-0. Might be the other way around in AOE3 though, he's got some good British musketeer openings he's been talking about making tutorials on since he hit his 200 sub goal last month. Looking forward to that tutorial more than this showmatch to be really honest.
The name “Rogues Gallery” is a reference to old brood war culture in North American of unreliability and bad manner. In a more modern era, how to you feel like these characteristics translate to the current scene and how do you relate to or identify with that history?
Never heard of that but I'm both unreliable and bad manner, so I guess it checks out. I'd add brainless to the list for a more accurate description of NA. Avi-Love would agree and @ me in the next BSL cast where we frequent to convey his approval. Avi-Love should also stream and I'd like to use this massive platform to advertise that. Ok, sorry for packing as many inside jokes as I could in an interview, bye.
gypsy
This is your second foray into the rogue's gallery, what were the lessons you took away from your previous series against Stryker?
No clowning.
You and Jaeyun are both longtime friends and practice partners, do you feel the need to include mindgames going into this series, or do you feel confident in your standard style?
13 cc baby

I think that the North American scene is less degenerate than the European scene.
