#60 Korea abcdefghijk!! 3098 Terran 56 2
Best ever record I guess.
Now only 126 accounts with 3000+ mmr, some of them belong to Bisu/Hiya/Ssak.
Non-kr 3000+ gosu:
#97 U.S. West SouL)T(Dandy 3025 Terran 275 193 #126 U.S. West Bonyth. 3000 Protoss 97 34
BTW, too many smurf accounts now, when will new season start?

I'm not really impressed by that result. Getting to 3000 MMR with 100% win ratio should be no problem for majority of top10-15 progamers. The thing is the don't really consider ladder as place to try hard, they play offrace, leave games in the middle when called for spon games etc.

That's true but its also not a surprise that Light is a top pro gamer. He's proven himself. This is not so much a surprising thing, but a confirmation that Light still has the skills that put him in the top when he used to routinely make top "4s or 8s" in major star-leagues; a significantly long time ago.
I strongly predict that we will see a period of time when light makes it to the top 8 or possibly even the top 4 once again, although of course that's much less likely (yay math).
This starleague is not for him. The map seems to be designed to eliminate terran. Something only Flash and Mind have resisted with frankly very impressive play. Not many mistakes at all. I think the map pool is somewhat difficult for terran this league by choice and that next season the map pool will be more straight foward or more open ended on who is favored. I think zerg having 3 early gas is a wet dream for top level zergs and I think the results show that. I think sparkle is a really tough fight for terrans this season but good for zerg and as always islands are nice for protoss. Especially if the islands are smaller. Just storm the whole landing area repeatedly -- > repeat

It's fucking impressive. You know why? Cuz light gives very in-depth commentary throughout every single game. If you can understand Korean, his vods are a goldmine of information. He has a ton of builds and shows you exactly how you should react and respond to every situation. Yeah he is a top pro, but he really doesn't play that all seriously and goes out of his way to inform. Light is a beast but I don't know why he is not in ASL. Are other terrans just that much better? Flash is leagues ahead for sure, but what about Mind and Sea? Does Light compare to them? How about Last?

If I were to list top terrans it would be:
1) Flash 2) Last 3) Mind, Light, Sea 4) Sharp 5) Mong, Rush, and rest

Wow, thank you. That's insane. Because I saw sea, sharp, mong, and rush in the ASL but not light yet. does light have a chance to come back and be a regular asler?

if Flash offrace smashed Scan on ladder (zvt) i dont think is a big deal for a high skill progamer like light going with this record honestly,is not like the ladder is full of pros anyway.

what do you think is keeping light back? I mean Mong and Sharp where in the ASL recently, and I thought light was at least at their level.

Dandy(~60% win rate) and also Bonyth's (~70% win rate on low games) mean a lot more than Light going 56-2, in my opinion.
However, to be fair, the pairing for foreigners is heavily versus others foreigners in the new ladder system (since patch 1.21.4, I think? -- But that's just a different topic).
Dandy could be using a VPN right now, I don't know, but if he is, then SUPER impressive to maintain 3000 over that many games. I'd have to assume that he is -- he'd be waiting 10,000 seconds at that MMR if not lol. I know when Bonyth was laddering, foreigners were still getting paired vs Koreans in one of the older patches, so Bonyth's is also very impressive (he's inactive right now).
The koreans are predominantly only playing other koreans in today's patch. For pros, it doesn't matter if they're playing koreans or not, they're still going to win.
Most of these pros (tier 2 and higher) could go similar record, maybe even 100%, if they actually tried. As koget said, most of them leave mid way thru for sponsored matches, etc. For instance, Shineeee, the terran Progamer, dominates ladders consistently since Fish days. But he's not a tier 1 progamer. Even Scan, what is he, just amateur level (?) -- he is in the top ranks too.
For Light to go 56-2 is not impressive, it's just expected lol

Being in a top rank does mean something, however the record and rank do not determine how good you are and be successful in the tournament.
I've reached 2900mmr with only 5 losses before when I was active in SC:R. Account named SouL)T(eSaGiTo. I stopped playing because it is so hard to get a match with someone who's at the similar mmr, and i don't want to waste a lot of time waiting to catch 1 game.
I know some people think stomping lower mmr is a bad idea, but when you are on practice mode such as testing/practicing optimization of few strategies, it's a good way to do so. For an example that I could think of would be working out at the gym. You want to build/fill up your muscles so you are doing a bar curl that has about decent amount of weight. Slowly doing the curl and checking out your arms through the mirror front of you.

I agree with that. Rank isn’t everything. Ladder isn’t always indicative of people’s skill (people could be testing builds, etc).
Ladder should never be held in absolute terms. Some people just aren’t good ladder players. Eonzerg could be an example of this (not really, because he's still like 2600 ... ). My point is, Eonzerg still performs very well in tournaments and such, but isn't as good in ladder as someone like Bonyth.
But that’s not the point I’m addressing. My Point is if people like Bonyth and Dandy can get these stats, pros can easily do it and with close to 100% or at 100% if they want. Nothing about tournament success etc. Which is why I say Light’s stats are simply expected.

most realistic scenario is that he probably has a gf/wife who tells him to grow up, stop playing games, get a real job

Most of the time it's just a matter of how hard you are actually trying to win/get far. I'm sure if players like Light really went hard on the practice like some of the other guys, he would definitely get far in an ASL. Some players are just taking it more casual than others.

Light is awesome. Could have won 5 OSLS and been so legendary if he was slightly more interested.
