The Chobo Team League (or abbreviated as CTL) is a StarCraft II team league currently for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond players.
The CTL was created in order to provide players lower in skill level with a structured tournament in which players can feel a stronger sense of competition, team spirit, and being a part of a friendly social environment, all of which Battle.net ladder often lacks.
There is no prize pool and no prestige, yet the Chobo Team League has continued to stand strong for well over four years now. The league has experienced consistent growth through 2012 - 2016 with a currently active user base of around 500 members.
Starting in 2015, the CTL began to produce an individual tournament called the Chobo Star League. The CSL is a dual-stage tournament feeding into an 8 player single elimination bracket and is also the premiere tournament of the Chobo Championship Series set to mimic the WCS sytem.
Current Teams: - All-Inspiration - Born Gosu - Daily Life - Formless Bearsloths - Guns and Roaches - LiT eSports - Psionic Aftermath - The Confederation - Team UnRivaled - Valhalla Gaming
How does it work?
Every week, the designated team captains send in their lineups consisting of players that fill out each league shown in the image above.

If you are interested in joining/participating within the CTL, then please follow this link to the current Discord server: (click here)
P.S. Players can join AND new teams can join CTL as well!

I can echo what Seeker said before me: Joining CTL is one of the best SC2 related decisions I've ever made. I've met so many likeminded people, I've befriended so many other nerd baller SC2 players, and I've improved so incredibly much because of the community support and interaction. I joined CTL in 2012 as a member of Guns and Roaches and later became captain. During my time in CTL I improved from platinum to top 8 Masters, and I attribute that improvement to the community, friendship, competition, and practice I found in CTL.
CTL is a great avenue for practice, competition, improvement, and friendship. If you are looking for a supportive and entertaining community, I definitely recommend the league.

Wow I didn't know about this! Maybe I'll sign up for CTL as well. If I don't play daily though, would that be a problem?

CTL is great, had the most fun playing sc2 while in the CTL, also helped me get masters as well. Even if you are a casual or tryhard this is the place to be if you want to play sc2 great people and a lot of fun.

It wouldn't be a problem at all. Players in the CTL have a wide range of commitment levels to the game.

I also agree that's it's one of the best sc2 related decisions I've ever made. I only got to participate in one season due to getting promoted to masters, but the team Skype is always active. It's great having people to talk about the game, and it's given me practice partners as well. And now we have the diamond/masters all-kill league to participate in as well. Definitely worth looking into for anyone looking for a community! You will not regret it!

You guys sell it super well, i might have to look into this x)

looks nice, I wish I was aware of this when I hadn't got that masters badge yet.

To be clear, teams can join the CTL or players can join a CTL team?
|
Both can chemsed, there are player apps and team apps. When you apply as a player you can pick a team or go in as a free agent and make a post saying your interested in looking for a team.

Geokilla you actually used to play in CTL waaaay back in season 5. You were part of Clarity Gaming Community which I was captain of at the time... Although I'm not sure if you were ever in the lineup.
I haven't played in CTL in a while as I stopped playing SC2 for the most part, but CTL is a great league. It really does add a good social element to SC2, as you'll get to know your teammates and other league members. Highly recommended.

Stephen Moore has continuously stated that his team (Glacial Gaming) will be participating in the upcoming season of CTL despite the fact that his former team (Alloy Esports) have already disrupted a season because his actions (Esports scams) caused the team to be disbanded overnight.
Will his team actually be considered for entry? He still hasn't paid back the players he scammed with Alloy and nobody wants to have a week of walkovers because halfway through the season Stephen decides to stop paying his players again right?

I'll never forget two things in my SC2 career:
being recruited to Team Bearsloths winning my first game
its the best thing you can do to take your gameplay somewhat seriously while still having fun and being rubbish.

Heya, PMed you but will answer here as well. He messaged me around a month or two ago asking to join, and at the time, I only knew him as a failed CTL captain in the past, and didn't know the full story. We had discussed allowing the team to join if Aldaris had nothing to do with leading the team, which I thought could be a possibility at the time. After we discussed this, other CTL admins told me about him attempting to join the season before I joined as admin w/ a new captain who left before the season even began. After knowing this, we will not allow glacial gaming to join our league. It sucks to me to have to reject a team full of players who (I imagine) want to play in an evironment like ours but can't due to the actions of their captain, but it's unavoidable. Hope that answers your question, and please let me know if you have any others

It was fun and pretty awesome now that you mention it! I don't remember what happened though or why I wasn't active back then. Sorry for not being in the lineup.

So, how does this work for poor EU players? Can I still apply? Will I have to rank my account on the NA server in addition to my EU one?
