interesting nice-looking MMO with totally original combat, and tons of features such as "tailoring" your own clothes. relies totally on "skill of the player" instead of level of character.
start:
initial customisation is very limited but good looking. you´ll basically come out with a common anime appearance and be happy with it. your starting clothes vary.
you can choose an age between 10 and 17 to begin - younger means you get more ability points in the long-run (which cap at age 25), but start off weaker. you age 1 year every real sunday.
graphics are decent and do not feel lacking. (you have to crank them up once you get in the game. might need to change brightness and enable a few options to get a warm comfortable appearance). it´s 2D anime in 3D world type graphics.
quests:
you need to quest to learn all the basic skills. quests also give you massive xp. i quested up till lv 16 before i had most skills. they are optional of course but you need skills like rest, defend, smash, counterattack etc.
quests are pretty fun and easy. only 1 or 2 of them are "kill x mob" (and those are only like "kill 5 of them")
combat:
im finding it insanely difficult. im lv 19, with -50% of a level just because im trying to practice the combat on regular low level mobs, and dying basically once per mob.
combat system works like rock paper sissors and is completely player-skill based (meaning you have to be a good player).
you have to figure out what the mob is going to do and respond to him with one of 4 main skills (and a small handful of others).
it´s a very cool and different system but i´m finding it extremely diffcult and it´s frustrating to figure out (since you have xp loss and have to walk back to the field each time).
as far as i can see there are very very few other combat skills. you can be level 30++ and you don´t have anything different to a level 15, except better stats/more hp.
similarly, armour doesn´t seem to do much (i´ve only seen armour with rating of 1, 2, 4 or 6). you will die in 2-6 hits from most mobs at any level.
it focuses totally on the players ability to timing-press defend/counterattack/smash/normal attack etc, and if you fuck up once you´re half dead.
pots:
you will use pots, if possible, while your opponent is in defense and you´ve just taken a hit from him. you won´t bother to buy them because theyre insanely expensive.
hp recovery takes like 5 minutes but you can learn a heal skill early on (haven´t got it yet). if you die/knockout then you also get "injury" and your max hp decreases until you are healed properly or use bandage skill etc.
other items:
weapons , there are like 7 that i´ve seen. you can upgrade them a bit. they cost a shitload to buy.
clothes , there are quite a lot (more than in any game probably) and they change colour in the stores every game day so you have massive choice. you can also manufacture them yourself. clothes also cost a shitload to buy.
features:
skills such as
potion making
performing music
tailoring
weaving
cooking
etc
original player-skill combat system
example of skill, "campfire"
buy an axe, go to a tree and click it until you´ve gathered 5 pieces of firewood. click "campfire" and you´ll lay one down. "rest" near to it and it helps hp recovery etc.
anyone wanna join me? i´m crying over dying to low level wolves non-stop because i can´t figure out the combat =(
