You are gonna want 2 or 3 fully upgraded weapons with different damage parameters and endurance use. I like that it forces you to do some serious upgrading after the end of the main game before you take on the dlc. got the crown of the old iron king last night after bashing my head against fume knight for 3 days. I was finally able to beat him with ricards rapier, leo ring and an upgraded rebels greatshield. beating him felt sooooooooo good. those lightning bitches have 0 poise and their main spell, the lighting orb thing, is easy to roll through. just get up close and smack'em around with something heavy While i respect your opinion, your obviously good at the game, probably like 100X better than me. So for you im sure the dlc's were challenging but no unfair, but for me, as someone who is bad at this game, it totally feels cheap. When 6 guys show up in a narrow hallway while mages are throwing spells at you, that feels cheap. When these guys on the way to smelter demon slow you and make you fat roll just by touching you, it feels cheap. Obviously as a bad player i probably shouldn't talk about if the dlc's are unfair since im not quallified to make that judgement, but right now its certainly kicking my ass but not in a way that I felt like in DS1 and most of DS2. Just my 2 cents, ill shutup now, thank you for the input and suggestions tho, glhf.

Yeah if there's one thing im good at in this game, its bashing my brain against the wall until I get shit done lol.

Edit: Well, already the most annoying thing about Alonne is just the walk to get there, so damn frustrating.

What will serve me better, Lightning Spears or Pyromancies? I only have 10 points in Attunement and no points in either Int or Faith, but I have found the Pyromancy-Flame and materials to get it to +2. €: Why are Twinkling Titanites so rare? I only found three so far after 12 hours of playing...

Finished the 1st DLC, that was hard as fuck, especially that garbage 3v1 fight which is complete bullshit. Now im 1/2 through Crown of the Iron King and your fighting these stupid fucking lightning mages or something, and the amount of enemies that come after you that are super agressive are just destroying me. While i think the level design, and the environments look amazing, im finding the DLC to be very cheap and far more frustrating than any other time ive played a Dark Souls game. They made the DLC more difficult on purpose because they received many complaints (most of them by Dark Souls veterans) that Dark Souls 2 was too easy. FROM basically went "challenge accepted" on that. Then again, DLC is meant as endgame content anyway, and entirely optional.

my +10 Longbow with iron arrows does over 200 every shot at 40 dex. o wait isnt the bellkeepers bow the very small one? maybe it makes up for low damage with low endurance use and high rate of fire?

No I'm wondering where I have to go next. I basically have three out of the four souls, the Lost Sinner is dead already as well.

Recently played some more DS2 after having played a lot of BloodBorne. My dodging skills in the former have definitely increased thanks to the latter's forcing players to play shieldless.

:D You can get a good bow in the port level, what is the name...the level with a boss in a ship. Most enemies have a bow as rare drop, and it's a very good bow until you get the black hunter bow in the castle. Obviously when you finish the game you can make an awesome bow with a boss soul.

Remember, you don't HAVE to fight the enemies First time I did that zone I just booked it through. Still do most of the time, with a route that hits a few items that I prefer to get.

Just hug the hill on the left and none of those invisible guys will attack you. I've hacked my way through those guys once I was at a higher level to see whether the items there were any good, and it was kind of disappointing. Shaded Woods and Tseldora aren't exactly the high points of the game, but once you're in Drangleic Castle things get a lot more fun (and challenging). This is actually my main beef with the souls series (including Bloodborne): while the gameplay is undeniably fantastic across the board, the level design tends to be a lot less consistent. What I usually notice is that things start out great with lots of interconnectedness (Unead Burg and Undead Parish, The Forest of the Giants and Lost Bastille, Central Yarnham) but the level design tends to become more predictable and less intricate the longer you play. Although granted, in Dark Souls 2 they did make up for it by mixing in more interesting gameplay challenges and some jawdropping areas.

I felt like I had messed up my first character a bit, the one that took 22 hours to get 3/4 lord souls, and now I'm at the same stage after 6 hours. I agree that Tseldora isn't great so far, but Ornifex just gave me a fantastic weapon (butcher's knife) for the Rotten Soul. So it's already worth the visit. I have spiders, though, and those giant cobwebs don't bode well... Anyway, after leaving the Gutter behind (can't believe they did it AGAIN!) I'm emboldened and ready to take on some spiders. €: I'm a bit bummed, though, that I apparently you can't get the fire enchantment spell before NG+. I wanted to support my melee character with Pyro, but other than Flash Sweat I haven't found much so far.
