1) I'm asking myself how to find a sponsor in general. Where do you go or what do you have to do to find a sponsor for a medium sized or unique tournament?
2) Sadly centuries have past since the last bigger sc2 2v2 events ( http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Team_Tournaments/2v2 ). And so many of you have missed the epic stuff that went on in these! I am a 2v2 only player and my heart is crying (not only mine) since there are no "bigger" events for it.
So here is this neat guy (baz) who is hosting a 2v2 tourney by putting his stream donations (atm > 300 $) almost completely into that tournament of his! He's a well known and respected 2v2 player whos organizing a tourney for the first (!) time to support the 2v2 scene. He is even showing interest in doing this event more often if possible.

[From the 1v1 scene there have alrdy players like beastyqt, myungsik, armani etc signed up. Also there are alot of gm's and gm level 2v2 players in the lineup.]
I think its just great for someone to do this. And i want to support him by trying to find a way to find a decent sponsor. Any kind of suggestions or help appreciated

PS: No, i dont think team games are imba and thus shouldn't receive any attention or support. If u think any race combination is too good you are free to choose exactly that one no? (Oh wait, if TZ would be op then Toss wouldnt? That would be so lame :D) Also i think 2v2 team games are way too underestimated in terms of unique and interesting games which - especially in this alrdy late stage since the release of sc2 - in terms of tournaments could perfectly provide some extra fun and entertainment for the sc2 community. So plz be nice and lets try to safe esports here mkay
Fun facts: if u play as random in 1v1, u can face 9 (3x3) different matchups if u play as random in 2v2 (with random ally), u can face 54 (9x6) different matchups [if u are a viewer possible matchups are as following: 6 in 1v1 vs. 21 in 2v2]

I don't know but I'll donate to help host one.

I want 2v2 tournaments to watch more than any 1v1 tournament at the moment, props to Baz!, hope its the beginning of a new era for 2v2 tournaments XD
|
Sadly I'm not in a position to help financially but I've already told all of my friends about this tournament so we're going to get together and watch it. Hopefully the stream revenue will help
|
I would only watch team games if there will be top-tier pros feature... im not saying i wouldnt watch if players who have become lackluster plays but it would definitely be a better tournament (imo) if there were some koreans and some top tier foreigners in it.

Would love to get sponsors for the next one. Planning to do one 2v2 tournament per month and I need the help I can get

This sounds sick. I think sc2 is missing out hugely by not supporting the 2v2 scene at all. I come from an rts where 2v2 players were just as respected, if not more! Look what's popular at the moment>>> team games! 2v2 can be more enjoyable to watch. Fighting on multiple fronts while coordinating attacks with your ally requires way more skill.
If the prize pool is there, pro players will come. You just have to make them aware. These days the pickings are slim. Where will it be broadcasted? I'd be willing to cast if you guys need help.

So actually noone on this site can help me with the original question? -_-
Like: How to find a sponsor. Where to look, whom to ask?

you are going to have to present proposals directed at any and every gaming related company you can think of - get a public relations manager's email from their website tell them your plans, what you want and how you intend to make their investment worthwhile I would say chances of getting cash from any companies are slim to nil unless your events start gathering a fair amount of attention but they may be willing to throw some merch or discount codes your way and that may not be much but its a start
|
it will just be a cheesefest.

The 2v2s back in the olden days of Proleague were my favorite thing to watch ever in BW, though I was admittedly not a hardcore fan. It kind of breaks my heart that there is so little support for 2v2 in SC2. Since I got sick of 1v1, that's all me and my main starcraft buddy plays.

Which rts are you referring to? I'm really curious, as I personally played 2v2 way more than 1v1 in bw, sc2 and wc3 when I was still active, and for those 1v1 is/was obviously immensely more popular than 2v2
