Can they afford to play 9 players full time ? If they are not playing full time and are also yet to show results there is little hope they will do anything... and if they actually afford to pay them full time, how comes they don't try to go for a "bigger" name, im pretty sure that the money put into the non naugrim player could have bought them 2 close to top tier player. Add to that the fact i see about 5 people commenting on the fact that they don't pay a cent, including one of the guy that seems to be listed in the roster. Dunno about you but this seems like a smelly business to me, and even if its not... i doubt they will make a breaktrough with the line up they have.

Two players announced today had already left the very same day ?! Otherwise I do believe Naugrim is a very talented player and I expect him to show his potential soon. I also enjoy watching kAra's unorthodox play, so good luck to both of them and to NOM also if it's not again a phony team...

Either teams keep promising players unsustainable things, or many players have higher expectations than are reasonable or possible for teams of their calibre. Probably some combination of both. If you're a team that speaks honestly to mid-level players about what they can expect, you'll probably lose out to a team that promises them the moon. Either way, I feel like this happens all the time now, it's insane.

IMO it seems that as SC2 gets bigger and bigger, more and more people are trying to get their slice while offering false promises and even flat out lies to attain it. How can 2 ex players, 2 current players, and a tournament winner (arew) all have negative things to say and not have that be the fault of the team itself, and its current operations. I really hope Naugrim reads the thread and takes a moment to really think if he wants to join the team. I really enjoy him as a player in both sc2 and in bw when he was active, and would really hate to have him come into a very negative situation, if thats what this ends up being.

So SOME teams start to trick the players in order to solve this problem. Its the worst way possible of course because this hurts every team with a sustainable business.

A LOT of random grandmasters you will never see going far in any big tournament demand salaries between 100-200 (some from NOMs roster probably even more) a month. So why would the teams trick the players? A team like that can't function for longer than a month or two?.. I just dont see what the teams will gain by doing this kind of stuff.

Even if they can't give a lot.

That's a really good point there. For example I'm a 1500 point master and probably gm next season, and I face mid gms on ladder in more than one third of my games, still because mid-low gms are actually not that good at all and can't win most tournaments since either they get beaten by top gms and pro players, either they lose to players to similar or lower skill level by getting unlucky and just by the game design dying to some cheese they didn't scout and react in time. So if you're kinda good, but in the tournament scene, you basically don't win any game. Then you want money just because you have some skills but you never show them, that's not something worth receiving a good salary. Teams get money from sponsors, and players must show themself in order to advertise the sponsor products and like that they get more salary.

In the time period between 17th of May(when kAra left) and 4th of June almost every day I had a little chat with him about his financial obligations to the members of the team. I learned that he is a young person - 17 or 18 years old - so I figured it is ok to have troubles with p@yp@l and bank transfers. Tried to help solving the issue with sending limits by sharing my experience, suggesting alternative ways to send money. It was all in vain. After a few days of seemingly rational explanations I started to get ridiculous answers e.g. quote "becouse i have big test soon and im not active few days" or "im study and i have bday today so you need somethink important ?" and promises of this sort: "tommorw my futher back from italy and i send the money ok man ?" - that was on 22nd of May. On 10th of May there was a tournament called Nom.ESET Tournament #1 Europe - kind of announcing tournament. Nice prize pool - 75$,50$,25$ for 1st,2nd and 3rd. The only thing announced, now that I look back was - We are not paying what we promised. Almost a month later - none of the top 3 players(Nerchio, Me, Arew) has received anything. I am no more part of that team - same for many of the announced on the first page players. The main purpose of my post was to explain the reasons why players leave NOM - it is not because of inactivity, poor performance, bad manner or anything like that but because we were lied to and cheated. The 2nd reason was to make this public and hope for some bad consequences for that team and organization in order to prevent others from treating their players this way. The last one is to share my intention to contact the sponsors of the team and let them know what is happening - if anyone has ideas who to contact(more specific) besides eset-israel or would like to translate to hebrew I would appreciate a PM.
