For example, SangHo is one of the best BW players to switch, and his results have been relatively unremarkable (to the best of my knowledge). However, the top players are a cut above the rest for a reason. It's hard to imagine them being anything but the best were they to switch. SangHo (Killer in SC2) was the only Protoss to advance to the Ro16 this GSL, so I'd say that his results are fairly good compared to the sc2 field.

He was basically only good at 2v2 and they stopped doing 2v2 a while ago so he was pretty much useless in BW. He was probably most famous for making like 50 cannons at his ramp off one-base during a 2v2. Basically, I think he was pretty much relegated to the duties of practice partner on his BW team. He was essentially eSTRO's best Protoss... for all that eSTRO sucked, if you don't remember him, who DO you remember from the team? Just Really and UpMagiC? Their newer stars Action and Flying, maybe? EDIT:Hyvaa! Forgot about hyvaa. He was fairly consistent, by eSTRO standards. TLPD gives him a 43-63 record in standard leagues to MVP's 30-46, incidentally.

If BW would take big blows from such things as *Show matches* of SC2, it would be on serious life support anyway and couldn't sustain itself, meaning that holding the players we love hostage would be simply wrong. EDIT: If anyone accuses me of being a SC2 fanboy, I'll punch him in the Soul. + Show Spoiler + Bisu and Fantasy are welcome to switch to anything else, though. The less of them I have to see, the better. Ah, that SKT hate seeping out of you man, but you're right, let them do what they want, and let them experience fan-love (damn did I nearly type fan-service there?!) On October 18 2011 07:00 KobraKay wrote: Yup...no Flash to save them this time O.o Bisu can definitely swim; and Fantasy as well. I don't think Jangbi nor the Dong need to have a lifeguard around. Ow yeah, I don't think SC2 has a high enough skillcap to make the current BW progamers dominate in SC2 or whatever but thats irrelevant to the main topic. Well, too bad that Fantasy just doesn't have a big fanbase... and as for your other statement, I'd definitely agree with that; if we're talking about a bonjwa emergence.

I just needed to jog my memory and connect his a.k.a.'s I would hardly consider him one of the best players to switch to SC2 when he accomplished nothing of note and was on a team that could be considered the only underdog vs. ACE (ok, maybe that's an exaggeration....but maybe not :x )

I think it was at WWI 2008. The replay is out there somewhere if anyone wants to watch it, I think I got it from the replays section of TL a while back

Blizzard is proud of BW and they should be, (with 12 years of relevance, a bloody miracle in this day and age) and this is the logical and preferred course of action now that the KESPA fight is over. I'm just glad we get to see some BW action after these weeks of inactivity :| Anyway, am I going to be able to see free streams/vods of whatever they do or am I shit out of luck there?

MVP is the most hyped up, but he was Woongjin Stars' ace Terran, that's probably comparable to being an eSTRO ace anything (or SKT's ace Zerg), and TLPD gives SangHo more games and a better winrate. Although I guess if you look at their individual league records, MVP did make it to the quarterfinal of an MSL, whereas SangHo always got eliminated in group stages, so I guess MVP might be considered a still improving player, whereas SangHo was quite consistent in his mediocrity... But I'm pretty sure they're the two best (at the time) Brood War players to have switched over, which indeed goes to show how much better Brood War's best players are than StarCraft 2's current best. At the same time, it does show that the transition isn't perfectly parallel - SangHo was clearly a better Brood War player than NesTea, MC or MarineKing.

Like when I played Diablo 2, I was no longer allowed to play Diablo 1. Same thing happened with Warcraft 3 and Warcraft 2. It's sad because I was just messing around a bit with Warcraft 3 but now I can never play my beloved Warcraft 2 again.

He never performed well in individual leagues, but he was a regular in Proleague and had a very good performance during the 08-09 PL season. Definitely nothing close to a practice partner. He was a solid A-teamer for a while. I think I would only rank MVP and ForGG above him.
