Avid readers of our site may have noticed a post from POS_Legion a few weeks ago regarding the movements of progamers between teams. Legion quickly requested the deletion of his post, fearing he had revealed information that still wasn't supposed to be open to the public. Well, it turns out that what he said was pretty much correct, as a Koreans newspaper has confirmed some interesting things.
Source: An article from the Korean newspapper GoodDay, found on pgr21.com. It's not the most reliable newspaper in the world, and they're known to twist words very severely. But hey, it's still the closest there is to official confirmation.
First off, Dong Yang Orion has decided to stop sponsoring their team. Orion is one of the top teams, featuring Boxer, ILoveoov, and Kingdom.
Their initial contract ended last month, and they went into negotiations. Boxer's team requested a total of 420,000,000 (1200 won/1 dollar) won for their team (it doesn't mention over what period of time). Orion could only offer 350,000,000 won, so the negotiations failed.
Apparently, it won't be a big problem for Boxer's team. The article states that 3~4 companies that have been interested in making a progame team have already started to contact Boxer's team.
Second up, Nada and Yellow are leaving KTF. They receive huge amounts of money from KTF at the moment, Nada at 50,000,000 won for 6 months, and Yellow at a similar level. However, it looked like they are going to move to Toona SG. I doubt they would have left unless the money was right, so it will be interesting to see exactly how much Toona SG offered.
Asides from the money, we can speculate about the conditions in the KTF team. It is well known that they are forced to practice for long periods of time, and Oddysay was previously kicked out because he couldn't agree with those rules. Also, the recent incident involving the Jang brothers and the KTF manager indicates that the KTF manager may not be the nicest of men to work for.
So what is KTF's solution to losing their two top players (frankly speaking, yellow/nada were 95% of KTF)? Why, they will throw money at the problem -_-! Reach and Sync of the Hanbitsoft team will be moving to the KTF team. The article says that they have already joined the KTF team at their quarters to practice.
Such huge news! Even more rumors are going around in the back involving other players, and there are some very big names included. But until more proof comes up, that's only speculating.
Toona SG has just become the no.1 team in all of BW. They were already a fairly good team, GoodFriend in particular. With Nada and Yellow, they will dominate -_-!
KTF will still be a decent team, Hanbitsoft is now officially f*cked. If Junwi left Hanbit, it would leave them slightly below Samsung Khan.
Interesting!

it's so curved
Their initial contract ended last month, and they went into negotiations. Boxer's team requested a total of 420,000,000 (1200 won/1 dollar) -- I think it should be (1 won / 1200 dollars) ?

my guess is ToonaSG will sell nada and yellow to a different team toona definitly doesn't have enough money to pay nada and yellow

Ah so that's what happened to that thread, I recall using search to find it again and coming up with nothing:p Seems progaming is growing at greater rates, with teams offering more and more money to the best players

420,000,000 is 350,000 USD. When divided by eight (the number of people on Orion) this equals 43,750 USD per year per member. This does not include any additional expenses that they might have to pay for. So 420,000,000 won seems perfectly reasonable. Shame Dong yang wouldn't pay.
