Avid readers of our site may have noticed a post from POS_Legion a few weeks ago regarding the movements of progamers between teams. Legion quickly requested the deletion of his post, fearing he had revealed information that still wasn't supposed to be open to the public. Well, it turns out that what he said was pretty much correct, as a Koreans newspaper has confirmed some interesting things.
Source: An article from the Korean newspapper GoodDay, found on pgr21.com. It's not the most reliable newspaper in the world, and they're known to twist words very severely. But hey, it's still the closest there is to official confirmation.
First off, Dong Yang Orion has decided to stop sponsoring their team. Orion is one of the top teams, featuring Boxer, ILoveoov, and Kingdom.
Their initial contract ended last month, and they went into negotiations. Boxer's team requested a total of 420,000,000 (1200 won/1 dollar) won for their team (it doesn't mention over what period of time). Orion could only offer 350,000,000 won, so the negotiations failed.
Apparently, it won't be a big problem for Boxer's team. The article states that 3~4 companies that have been interested in making a progame team have already started to contact Boxer's team.
Second up, Nada and Yellow are leaving KTF. They receive huge amounts of money from KTF at the moment, Nada at 50,000,000 won for 6 months, and Yellow at a similar level. However, it looked like they are going to move to Toona SG. I doubt they would have left unless the money was right, so it will be interesting to see exactly how much Toona SG offered.
Asides from the money, we can speculate about the conditions in the KTF team. It is well known that they are forced to practice for long periods of time, and Oddysay was previously kicked out because he couldn't agree with those rules. Also, the recent incident involving the Jang brothers and the KTF manager indicates that the KTF manager may not be the nicest of men to work for.
So what is KTF's solution to losing their two top players (frankly speaking, yellow/nada were 95% of KTF)? Why, they will throw money at the problem -_-! Reach and Sync of the Hanbitsoft team will be moving to the KTF team. The article says that they have already joined the KTF team at their quarters to practice.
Such huge news! Even more rumors are going around in the back involving other players, and there are some very big names included. But until more proof comes up, that's only speculating.
Toona SG has just become the no.1 team in all of BW. They were already a fairly good team, GoodFriend in particular. With Nada and Yellow, they will dominate -_-!
KTF will still be a decent team, Hanbitsoft is now officially f*cked. If Junwi left Hanbit, it would leave them slightly below Samsung Khan.
Interesting!

can anyone write there complet member list of each team? thx

it's so curved
Their initial contract ended last month, and they went into negotiations. Boxer's team requested a total of 420,000,000 (1200 won/1 dollar) -- I think it should be (1 won / 1200 dollars) ?
|
my guess is ToonaSG will sell nada and yellow to a different team toona definitly doesn't have enough money to pay nada and yellow

Ah so that's what happened to that thread, I recall using search to find it again and coming up with nothing:p Seems progaming is growing at greater rates, with teams offering more and more money to the best players

i'm concerning who will be Junwi's next practise partner Reach & Sync gone...

Hanbit's situation isn't so bad because they still have Silent_Control.

420,000,000 is 350,000 USD. When divided by eight (the number of people on Orion) this equals 43,750 USD per year per member. This does not include any additional expenses that they might have to pay for. So 420,000,000 won seems perfectly reasonable. Shame Dong yang wouldn't pay.

Can't wait to see how much YellOw will be paid in Toona

hanbit also has their amateurs
stay[hyo] (zerg) and reach (protoss) (no not oops)Reach)
they actually got them to play in the itv league while they tried to sort out their team mess recently. POS won 3-0 should be showing sometime early in 2004. i think.
poor hanbit

stay[hyo]? lol...hes certainly above average...but hes really not so good.

I think toona will just find co-sponsors or something. It's going to become very popular, and there shouldn't be any problem with that.
|
could somebody post a list of Toona and KTF with their new players plzzzzz

Wax, you know how korean pro teams pay their players? As far as i know players get a place to stay and food along with practice but no real money. Which would give boxer a bunch of moneys. Kingdom probably have a bonus for OGN victory, also iloveoov. I doubt it will be splitted evenly;)
|
i am sure boxer will take the biggest share of the 350,000, after all he IS the team leader, kingdom will get a bonus, but since he elliminated boxer in the top 8, he should be punished for high treason and have his bonus reduced to 1200 won... for oov, owning yellow means in whatever final is too common, so 2400 won should be enough... rainbow won the kbk, but still nothing TOO special, so 3600 won shut him up... as of zerglee and that new guy, since they did almost nothing in recent boxer memory, he will simply provide the 2 poor zerg players with enough food to keep them alive while having enough strength to move their hands to play bw... the rest boxer will keep for himself...
|
|
shit now I see why KTF manager is a mean guy. He probably get paid less than half of the players he manages like Nada and Yellow so he forces them to train hard thinking it will torture them -_-;;

That reach dude should be forced to change his name... it's confusing. How about a little creativity here? heh

uhhhh i was chobo i forgot the name and asked bejjang and he said reach, but later on i remembered it wasn't reach i was thinking about but it was really [oops]autumn (not normal autumn)
i'd also like to point out i have a 6-0 winning ratio for team league matches!!!! woot!~~ *begins to dance the macarana*

gw legioN!! anyway i think the amounts requested are certainly reasonable considering how big SC seems to be in korea.
|
|
i just watched mbc game and it showed Orion named 4u, is this their new name and sponsor??
|
|
What/who is "Dong yang orion"? Is it a company producing sth? It sounds like a korean name for me -_- (no offence).
