[SPOILER] Winners/Losers of ZvP Race War Battle

Interview with the Winners



- You defeated a team of 4 dragons.
▲ Savior = Honestly I didn’t expect much coming here but I’m very happy I got two wins (laughs). Next week I have a Winners League Final match so I believe that this match experience will be of help for that.
▲ July = I’m happy we won. Though it was very tight at 4:3, we still won and I’m just satisfied at the fact that zerg is not the weakest race.
▲ Luxury = Although I didn’t even win one game, because I was able to watch games of zerg players better than me and learn a lot, I am happy.
▲ Yarnc = I think I just learned a lot.

- Your feelings on winning the Ace match?
▲ Savior = Like I said earlier, I honestly didn’t expect much (laughs). For Tau Cross, I talked to Luxury and Yarnc right before the game and decided on the 9 drone build. Truthfully I worried more about the 6th set on Return of the King. Because I wasn’t sure how the map looked my timing for the 7 o clock multi was a lot later than I expected. However, by doing this and that, I think I was able to win.

- As the start off player, you had 2 wins and consequently lead the zerg team over protoss.
▲ July = I thought I would win more games today than in the last match against terran; I regret how the 3rd set played out. I liked the 2nd set the most, and in the 3rd set I didn’t think I made that many mistakes but because I misplaced a hatchery, units kept having to go around so I struggled during battles.

- After 2 kills you lost to Stork… do you feel bad about not being able to get 3 kills?
▲ July = I was still able to get 2 kills so I’m still satisfied.

- In this all star race battle, you guys didn’t get to win any games.
▲ Luxury = I’ve been very busy. If I weren’t as busy, I feel as though I would have been able to secure at least one win. I’m very regretful.
▲ Yarnc = I think it’s because I came out here having not played much since I was on break. Though the other players also didn’t prepare much, I think I prepared the least.

- While playing Stork, it seemed your mineral mining strategy was a bit late.
▲ Yarnc = I used the same strategy as GGplay and used 5 drones but strangely afterwards, only 1 drone was mining. Then I just lost my timing.
▲ Savior = I also think it was a bug. The overlord’s field of vision was there so I think it really was a bug.

- For the first time, you have 2 straight wins against Bisu.
▲ Savior = Whether it’s Bisu or me, as progamers it’s not like we are just going to play a few days and quit. If a player methodically keeps practicing then one day, chances are, things will turn around. Also, currently I am behind in our head to heads and I don’t really consume myself with thoughts of catching up – I’m not the type to focus solely on wins/losses.

- What are your plans until the 4th round opening game?
▲ Savior = Currently our team is in the Winners League finals, and once the finals end there’s the Survivor preliminary matches that most players participate in so I think I will participate as well. It’s still undecided for now but I hope that the players who don’t participate in the preliminary matches before the 4th, 5th round will be able to rest at least for a couple of days and have time to reorganize themselves.
▲ July = Our team’s long break just ended and yesterday we returned to prepare for the 4th round. Everyone is putting everything on the line as they practice for the 4th and 5th rounds. The approaching pro league 4th and 5th round is really exciting – I’m really looking forward to it. Although we regretfully dropped out of the Winners League post season, I am definitely trying my absolute hardest to go far in the pro league.
▲ Luxury = Up until now, our team has had no chance to take a break so I think we will go on a vacation. After the break, I plan on earnestly preparing for the 4th round.
▲ Yarnc = Our team also just ended break yesterday and began practicing again. Because the survivor preliminary matches are also coming up, I’m helping with those, and also preparing for the 4th and 5th rounds.

- What do you guys personally think of the zerg race?
▲ Savior = I don’t really have much interest. I don’t care whether terran is “imba” and actually I haven’t really thought about the different races that in depth before. For me, because I play zerg, I just practice hard with zerg, and that’s it. I think the fans watching and enjoying my plays is completely separate from what I think of zerg.
▲ July = I don’t really think it’s that great of a race, but I’m in the process of changing my mindset so that I view it better.
▲ Luxury = I just see it as a profound race. If you understand it then it’s a very strong race but if you don’t fully understand it like me it becomes a weaker race.
▲ Yarnc = I just think it’s a simple race. I don’t especially like it or dislike it.

- If there is anything special you want to say…
▲ Savior = I think seeing players from different teams on tv and playing together with them is very different. Experiencing playing together as a team, I’m happy that I can pay deeper attention to their play, and I also liked being able to discuss various strategies with them.
▲ July = I would like it if there were more events like this in the future. I wish they would raise the prize 10x so that I could fully practice and participate. I think the discussion in this race match was also great.
▲ Luxury = I don’t have much to say having appeared twice with no victories.
▲ Yarnc = If the prize were higher I would have probably returned from break but the prize was small so I spent my break not practicing and came out.

Interview with the Losers

Protoss Race, "We don't want to lose to the Terran"

▶“Revolutionist” Bisu
- I didn’t practice enough for this so I regretfully lost. I was hoping Stork would complete an all kill… I don’t feel so good because I feel like I showed bad gameplay tonight (laughs). Today Savior played so well. His counterattacks in the games were good and his reactions were fast. I really felt that zerg was strong again tonight. The next opportunity I get I will show better abilities.

The next match is with terran and there isn’t anyone specific that I want to play against. Though there isn’t a specific individual player, because this is a pride war against terran, I definitely don’t want to lose. Today Stork showed strong play, and because we’re all good players I believe if we just play our respective games well, we will win. Today we showed the protoss playing together; next time we will practice more and show amazing gameplay.

▶“Monster” Best
- Although we lost today, because I was able to play together with players from other teams, I had a lot of fun. Though I lost today, I definitely learned a lot. In the match against terran, I want to show a strong performance. In the terran match, the startoff game is Flash vs. Stork. If Stork hyung loses, I would like Flash to pick me. I want to have fun.

▶“Commander-in-chief” Stork
- By luck I was able to get 3 kills. Before me, Best and Jangbi had to play on maps that were hard for protoss. So on the whole for me, I played on maps that weren’t as bad for protoss. But still, I regret that I wasn’t able to perform an all-kill. Even in Savior hyung’s game against Bisu, his defense against sair/reaver was amazing. I was too thrown off by his drops, and because there was a setback in observers I feel like I lost the game.

In the terran match I am starting off against Flash; it feels like it’s been such a long time since I’ve played him. Though I actually practice with him a lot, I lose to him much more. Also, lately, I feel like zerg play is easier (laughs). I think the maps will be important. I will try to prepare diverse plays.

▶“Almighty” Jangbi
- I really wanted to get revenge on Luxury so it sucks that I couldn’t. Today I didn’t see any other zerg but Luxury so I really regret losing to July. However, because today 4 protoss got together and played together, I had a lot of fun. I even got to discuss strategies openly a bit. The strategy I used today was one Bisu told me about, though I ended up losing (laughs).

Although I want to play every player in the terran match, I especially want to play Flash. However, I will cheer for my teammate Stork hyung. Recently I lost in the finals but I want to tell the fans not to worry about me. That night I along with Stork and my other teammates drank alcohol and let it out. It really seems like when one is depressed, alcohol is the best answer (laughs).
