I've always wondered why with the advent of video sites like youtube, there has been a lack of video tutorials for starcraft. I've set about to rectify this problem.

The Starcraft community is a very elitest community that is very difficult to break into for new players. As it has been around for a long time, there are many nuances that everyone is expected to know. Therefore, there are no resources on how to learn these techniques and often they are difficult to find out by ones' own accord.

The Essentials aims at showing off these simple yet vital techniques and their application in real game situations. Every video that I will upload will show off something that you can immediately use to improve your game.

wow ive watched some of these, pretty good!
might want to add on the lurker one if you have spare time to point out holding with ovies or anything works as well, not just attacking things under fog of war

I don't have much experience with muta micro so I'm not sure if they are done the same way

Very nice project. Good job

I think a simple one you can show is the moving drop. You used it in the zeal bombing video but didn't explain it, and something like that deserves it's own video

They're different

Mutalisk micro is order them to move behind the target, and then when they move into range you order them to attack that unit. Once you see the glaives flying move away and repeat.

Mutalisk vs Scourge or Wraith vs Scourge is pretty simple. Clump your units together (helps if you have Overlord with Mutalisks) and when the Scourge get into firing range, press patrol right on top of your Mutalisks and move away quickly. If done right, the Mutalisks will fire a glaive backward, bouncing and killing multiple Scourge and will move away to cause more trouble.

yeah what I meant by "muta micro" was with respect to killing scourge

I wasn't really sure since I haven't played that many ZvZ games

Great Videos. It would be great if more people who knew all the little tricks would make videos explaining how to do them. Much nicer than trying to interpret what somebody typed out.
