Hola señors y señoritas of Teamliquid.
Short Background Story: + Show Spoiler +I am Pablo of Peru. Few years ago my physiotherapist recommended yoga to me for which my body has been very thankful. Not only does my body rejoice as the tension leaves it, it's also a welcome trip down memory lane to the times I used to play handball where we'd be doing a lot of strength, flexibility and mobility exercises and positions familiar to yoga's.
Mine is Happy Baby Pose.

Not what I expected when I saw the title. Would you recommend yoga to everyone?

Lol I fucking hate yoga. It's supposed to be relaxing but I find it so stressful.

so my dads been getting really into yoga and ive been talking a lot with him about the chakras and the spiritual, mental and intellectual aspects to each asana and how it connects to at the physical level. really neat stuff ive come to find
edit: as a yoga noob id probably say cobra pose for me as it activates your muladhra chakra (apparently) and just really stretches your entire back and chest

Strength, flexibility, mobility, blow flow & breathing benefits seem like nothing in comparison to the calm tranquility that fills your mind and body after yoga. I often walk out of the yoga classes feeling high on life - ready to go duel the trivialities of the world.

As a child age five to ten I couldn't relax my tense body if my life depended on it. In school sometimes our teacher would ask us to close our eyes and meditate imagining a beautiful blue sky and I just couldn't. My mind would wander off, I'd be thinking about all the overwhelming impressions around me past and present. I would be concerned about stuff.
Over the years and particularly after discovering yoga I've slowly and gradually learnt to better let go of tension and relax. If you're having a hard time relaxing as I was I am happy to pass on pieces of advice I picked up along the way. It's all about surrendering, not worrying, not being concerned, letting go of tension. Much, much easier said than done. As a child I couldn't even grasp the concept of relaxing - I'd always be tense except when enjoying myself playing chess, playing sports, singing with my family and what not - only I wouldn't be aware, wouldn't be concious of my relaxed state of mind and that speaks to the nature of relaxing I think. If we try to relax, our efforts hold us back - easily concerned with the desired result as we are instead of letting go of tension. Focusing on your breathing can help - filling up your lungs as you inhale and letting go of tension as you exhale. Breathing techniques can help your central nerve system relax. In short, relaxing can't be forced - it's about accepting and surrendering and letting go of worldly concerns. Hope you find peace.

As much as I think this is a perfectly cool topic, I wish that the title wasn't so misleading lol.

I tried yoga and it was pretty hard. I don't think I could do most the positions properly since I lack flexibility.
