well, i'm not a fan of the current system, so i hope they do something to change things up..but we'll have to see what happens in the future as to whether this really makes sense

Well, if they were to do something like say all the players competing in regions they don't have residency/citizenship are no longer eligible, this type of warning seems appropriate. The question is, will they pull the trigger?

Honestly, while I agree that the WCS system is meh, I would rather Blizzard focus on improving the game itself than not focus on the biggest thing hurting the scene's -- effectively the game's -- longevity.

It's not just this Challenger Season that is not feeding into next season's Premier, even this Premier Season will not feed into next season's Premier. I think they will restart everything due to some huge upcoming changes. Possiblities would be a region lock of some sort, which will make it impossible for lots of players currently in Premier to attend next season.

They could also move to EU or NA.

edit: In the original announcement of the WCS, it was explicitely written that blizzard aims to make everything offline next year. So something like a soft region lock shouldn't come with a surprise.

Source? If that's true, then there's no point of Challenger league or anything to begin with, aside from getting WCS points for this year's Blizzcon and a couple hundred bucks.
