In other words it's making everyone play in the premier league qualifiers that will be in 2014 after the region lock... Even though the region lock will make for less exciting games at next year's season finals and global finals.

Well this surely does seem like region locking.

I just can't believe GOM would be okay with this. I'd be very surprised if that applied for GSL too.

sounds to me like they want to change something up drastically so players that switched region can easily switch for the next year.

Well it makes sense, since many will probably have to switch regions etc. I don't mind this too much. The qualifer seeds are a nice extra, I thought they were only playing for some extra money and points at this point in challenger.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

That's a really good point that people switching regions would be back to square one if the rules remain the same. I bet it's only for the first season.

I'm willing to bet that GSL isn't affecting seeing how foreigners aren't playing in WCS Korea... Unless it does something like transfer the Koreans in AM/EU Premier/Challenger to Korea Premier/Challenger qualifiers.

its hilarious and pathetic the lengths they will go to to keep the koreans out. What will happen if more koreans actually move to north america and europe like MC and MMA and they still keep winning? are you then going to ban them from tournaments because of their ethnicity? the "residency and region lock" argument wont work anymore.. lol

We will love them, because they moved, rather than visited for 3 weeks and left with whatever prize money they could win. Everyone loves Polt.

Hey. It's a lot more opportunity for Koreans to make money than before... and foreigners. Even if Koreans take 27 of the foreign premier league spots.

Seriously.... 100% agree with plansix I don't think there is a single american that doesn't love the fact that polt has moved here and is competing under the AM flag

Hopefully its to introduce a region lock. Seems like that could be the only way to eliminate the seeds.

Limiting the number of people from the same nation competing in a WC tournament is standard in sports. I'm not for locking or limiting anything, just make ro32 offline, just saying it would be normal and not racist or stupid.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

They are removing challenger league and only making a premier league, the results in challenger league this season will only provide seeds for the premier league qualifier.

That's what Dayshi said on Facebook yesterday night as an explanation about the fact that he played random vs LucifroN (besides the lag issues).
