Concept

This map came together through a combination of drafts I made on paper. The layout is a bit experimental. I wanted to create a map with a feeling of vulnerability by having the mains and natural further apart than normal. I also wanted to have many paths you could control your opponent from, some with destructable rocks that can block off a ground army. You can either take the third base below your natural, which is the closer base, or you can take the base near your main, protecting it from aerial attacks. The middle area can be forcibly choked off and is on high ground, which can allow for a great position of an army. I put an island base in each corner of the map, allowing for either extra sneaky play or an extra base in the super late game. I also wanted to give this map a feel of BroodWar Badlands, which I feel I accomplished. This map leaves me with a great feeling for the future of my maps, as I can continue nostalgia (and maybe even remake a brood war map using this aesthetic)

It looks incredible man O_O
But i'm worried about the map having FPS issues (too many doodads/trees), aside from that the map looks fine to me ^^ (>inb4 protoss players crying about the "hard" third base :b)

one question, are those highground pods at each corner of the central highground droppeable?? if so that would be awesome, oh i almost forgot, will you submit this map to the TLMC? i would love to see this map in the tournament

Yes, everywhere that has a little pod is dropable :3 which makes me question the pod at the third... (that used to be the fourth, but I changed the main and nat in development)

As for FPS, I honestly cant tell because my computer never drops frames for anything xD most of the large clumps of doodads (rocks and trees) are OUTSIDE of the blue line in the editor, which means they dont get rendered unless you walk near them (revealing them)

looks great.

personally i feel like you dont really need the collapsible by the 3rd/4th. i mean, i dont really want to see people adding these things just because. the back pathway behind the gold, if anything its use is diminished because the rocks, in addition to the island corner base.

to use an easy comparison, if you think about the back pathway in cloud kingdom, there is a wide staging area near the third for the attacker if they use that path. it also leads to the corner bases, and has another large staging area near there as well.
