The GameSpot MLG Dallas 2013 Video Interviews thread, updated each day throughout this weekend. Day 1 was a bit slow, but there's only one real match worth talking about:
MC after beating MVP: "I was only worried about MVP. Really confident against other players. I think I'm gonna champion." + HoTS balance, Protoss stability, etc.
Bly on his loss to Flash: "It was mind games. I was mindgames him, and he overminedgames me", winning Game 3, letting Game 4 get away, and general thoughts on how Heart of The Swarm is right now:
Suppy on his loss to Ret, wants buffs to Zerg rather than nerfs to Terran/Protoss:
SaSe on his loss to Taeja, the current shape of HoTS, continued problems in PvP

hehe, bly is cute, so polite and modest about his games vs flash not harping on balance at all, but then when asked for his opinion he goes balls out and lets us all know everything that he thinks is wrong ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)
i'd like to see more interviews with this guy, seems like one of those genuine players who gives honest and thought out answers, rather than the robotic responses we get alot of the time like "i wanna show good games" =p

We shouldn't dive into balance changes just yet, especially after a year of zerg dominance. If it costs a spore or 2 in your mineral lines to defend some of the harrassment, then lets try to play the game out from that point and if it becomes apparent that you cant win because of the investments in the early game shenannigans THATS when we look to patching.
TL:DR Give it time, less qq more Pewpew

vs other terransilly move and u still win, vs flash silly move, GG!
Very nice INterview very analytic about his games and honest about his failures, well done Bly and ty Slasher

don't know why you should do a balance interview with anyone ever, it doesnt help at all. first of all, most players will always say their race is the worst (which is quite sad but its the reality), then its sad these "mediocre" (yes, compared to the best of the best) think they kno anything about balance at all. thirdly, it just gives the hords of "newbies" ammunition to spam the forums etc and plague the community and then they start to believe they don't lose because they are bad players but because their race is the worst.

'Fix late game for both race because right now... you have to win before 15 minute mark, or you die.'
Terrans put up with more than 6 months of this in TvZ. I didn't hear Bly coming out and saying that Zerg was 'really imba'. On top of that, the P/TvZ meta stabilized around 15 minute timings for months, while this expansion, with a whole lot of new units, has been out for less than a week. And even so, we have seen some incredible Swarm Host play from players like Leenock and Ret that has made the Zerg mid-game look incredibly strong in the right hands.
This is why I don't listen to most players opinions on balance at the moment. This expansion needs time to develop a meta before we can make any balance changes.
Also on his 'no Zerg top 4' prediction, he needs to remember that every Zerg at Dallas a part from Leenock and Life, are foreigners. Meanwhile, a part from ThorZaIN, every Terran in the tournament is Korean and are/were Code S players at some point (the only exception is Last if we count ThorZaIN's 1-2 Ro32 appearance). I would be surprised if we see a lot of Zergs beyond the Ro8 on these stats alone, although the way that Leenock dismantled BabyKnight has me thinking that his knowledge of the expansion is pretty top notch at the moment.

Sky terran hasn't changed much since WoL, and it's more of a super late game map dependant strategy than just late game. It's not something you can naturally transition into like broodlords/infestors was. In fact, Zerg lategame got immensely buffed with Ultra 40 dmg splash and vipers while Terran standard lategame got nothing except speedvacs which don't bring additional firepower. This was glaringly obvious in G4 of Bly vs Flash.
Besides, have you noticed than when pro Terran/Protoss complain about a particular HoTS feature, they do it much more subtly, making it pretty much always clear that they're not too sure since it's a new game, while on the other hand, a lot of pro Zergs call things straight out imbalanced and even propose the patch log they would like to see being implemented... They whined their way through winning 75% of the serious international tournaments and making up 50% of GSL code S players, and I'm afraid they might reiterate this tactic with HoTS.

Although it may be extremely early, probably too much so, to have a high level discussion on the metagame, there still seems to be some general sentiment regarding some things when talking to many of the pro players. I will attempt to do a compilation of thoughts from all the players here on the current standing of HoTS.
