You successfully made it to Code S. How do you feel?
I am really content with the fact that I can start off the next season in Code S.
Your opponent was fellow teammate Vampire. Wasn't it difficult to prepare for him?
It was really difficult for me prepare for him. I had to practice mainly through laddering and image training since we practice at the same team house. Which is why I felt like my performance was worse than usual. I really don't want to go through another team kill from now on (laughs).
Ever since last year, you have just been going back and forth between Code S and Code A.
Back when my results were really good I would think about nothing but the game. But then as time progressed on, I started thinking about a lot of different things. And of course, my losses against NaDa stressed me out a lot so I just went outside to play a lot. I think this is why my results were so mediocre. But with Sniper's most recent GSL championship victory, I've been feeling motivated to do well again. He's been a steady practice partner of mine for two years and if he can make it that far then I should be able to as well. Ever since then I haven't taken a break and I've just been preparing really hard,
Maybe it was because you both know each other so well but to us it seemed like you just couldn't easily engage each other.
I think neither of us prepared well for the new maps that we had to play on. I didn't practice enough and my condition was not the best but luck was with me today so I was able to win. I even gave up the strategy I had planned for game three and just reverted back to my old style so that I could win.
With next season being the final WoL GSL, the season after will be a HotS tournament. Do you think the HotS transition will become an opportunity?
I think it'll be just like transitioning to SC2 from BW. Even KeSPA players have been showing that while some are really good at SC2, others are not so much. It's important to put in a lot of effort but it's even more important to be talented at the game. I think it's because of talent that players are able to find their rightful places. Personally I feel like my skills got so much better once I transitioned to SC2. So I can't help but feel like the exact same will happen for my transition to HotS.
You have to prepare for WoL and prepare for HotS.
Killer hyung gathered us around and told us one day that he believes that team MVP will spawn a new star every three months. He stated that the previous three months gave birth to Sniper, and the next three months will give birth to me. So I think I really should get at least one trophy for WoL. I'm confident for HotS and since it will be the final WoL GSL, I'm going to grab the championship.
Sniper won a GSL and all but it kind of feels like MVP has been declining.
When it came to the GSTL, everyone played their roles perfectly. But when it to came to my role, I didn't do so well so we ended up grabbing second place. So I am very sorry about that. For individual leagues, I think we're all doing a good job. DRG hyung used to win championships left and right but nowadays he's been going on a decline so I think that's another reason why MVP is giving off this weak vibe.
As of late, is DRG still showing his confident side?
When he talks to us, he always states that he's confident, but we are starting to see that he has started to decline. But I think DRG hyung will be able to regain his old form if he can just find his confidence again.
Do you feel motivated from DRG and Sniper's championship victories?
Of coruse. I've been feeling motivated for a while. I just haven't been able to deliver. Since we are approaching the last WoL tournament, I want to win it no matter what.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to let Vampire know that he did a job well done in today's match. I want to thank Noblesse for teaching me a build order I used today. I want to thank our coach for always working so hard and our sponsors Lotte Chilsung, RAZER, GOMtv, and partners MYM and Wayi Spider.

You successfully made it Code S. Tell us how you feel.
I feel good. But I've been to Code S many times so I hope I get some really nice results.
You easily grabbed a 2:0 victory. Did you expect this score?
I was under the impression that First was a macro kind of player but I had no idea he could be that aggressive. I have difficult playing defensively for TvZs but I'm confident in my TvP defensive skills so I had the advantage.
You blocked his blink stalker attack and grabbed game one. It felt like your number of bunkers were low but were you trying to show off how confident you were?
It's not that I don't believe in bunkers, it's just that I don't build them a lot (laughs). I think the most effective way to play defensive is to grab a lot of bio units so that's the way I played.
You defended for game two as well and grabbed the victory.
I felt like his stalker movements were purposely trying to lure my marines out. So I felt like this was indicative of an oncoming attack. Which is also why I got hellions.
Next season will be the final WoL GSL.
For the next season of GSL, I am going to show everyone all that I am capable of for WoL. And of course I want to grab the championship. Since I kept on getting nervous during the Ro32 for Code S matches, I've developed a kind of trauma. I want to break that jinx for next season and transition to HotS.
The transition to HotS will occur soon. Are you afraid of anything?
I haven't actually practiced HotS yet but I have tried out the new units and their new abilities. I haven't practiced any of them properly but I am confident. I've felt for a while now that my strength is in coming up with new strategies. I also used to play Random in the past so I think I'll be able to adapt rather quickly.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank Tear for helping me with practice. Lastly, I want to thank our sponsors FXOpen, RAZER, Twitch.tv, and GOMtv.

You've made it to Code S two season in a row. How do you feel?
I am so glad that I was able to make it like this since I also previously stated that I wanted to make it. I expected to make it up with a score of 2:0 but it was a shame that I let a game go.
You played all three games today with brood lords. Did you feel like you weren't going to stand a chance for the early/mid stages?
My build order for game one didn't go as planned so I started off with a disadvantage. In order to grab a comeback I had no choice but to aim for the late game. For game two, I had no choice but to play defensive because I made bad decisions when he moved out to attack. For game three, I presumed I had the advantage so I just comfortably teched up to brood lords.
You went for brood lords for game two as well but it seemed like losing twenty drones shook you up.
I didn't see my drones die but I think that happened when I tried to transfer my drones over to the new expansion. It wasn't a mistake or anything but I think the timing was just not on my side.
In the previous interview, you stated that you don't feel pressured by Fantasy. So did everything go as expected?
Overall I think the games were okay. Game one just wasn't clean because of that messy beginning. And in game two, my decision to attack his empty base was a miscalculation so I ended up losing.
It hasn't been that long since you had to transition to WoL but you will have to transition for HotS very soon. Anything you're afraid of?
It doesn't matter even if I do have to transition because I will work just as hard. I'm not worried for HotS because I rapidly cleared my mind and adapted to the SC2 transition well.
It must be difficult to focus on the GSL and ProLeague at the same time. Especially whe ProLeague uses maps like Tal'Darim and Arkanoid.
It's true that I've lost a bit of confidence since I don't have as much time to practice like my opponents do. But I am having fun with my teammates as we practice so I've been gaining my confidence again through that.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank all my Terran teammates who helped me with practice despite the fact that they had ProLeague to prepare for.

You fought hard and made it to Code S. How do you feel?
If the games had just gone the my way then I would have ended the series with an awesome 2-0 victory and then I would have finished off with a "You are Code A" ceremony. But then I ended up losing game one so I had to play games two and three. It was a little embarrassing (laughs). I'm going to find someone in Code S that I can devour and send to Code A.
Today's match seemed especially difficult.
I happen to know that Genius likes to use phoenix and immortal rushes. I prepared for this match with those kind of strategies in mind so I figured I would win easily, but then it didn't end up being that way (laughs).
So you weren't able to prepare properly?
I practiced really hard. My performance rose higher ever since yesterday so I thought I would advance easily today. I had no idea that I was going to make so many mistakes today.
Did you make so many mistakes because you were nervous?
I'm not sure if it was because I hadn't played in a televised match in a while or what but I did get nervous.
You are known as a Code S reader and you lived up to this name by determining that Genius belonged in Code A. However, Genius could get through the Up/Downs and face you again. Will you be confident then as well?
For some strange reason, players who lose to me don't really tend to make it back up that often (laughs).
Next season will be the final WoL GSL. Are you practicing for HotS?
I want to start playing HotS and all but there are so many WoL tournaments going on right now that it's difficult. And since HotS goes through such drastic changes with every patch that I feel like rather than try to learn HotS right now I should just keep deciphering everything that keeps coming out.
Your goals for next season?
Falling to Code A due to losing from the Ro32 and Ro16 is no fun. So I'm going to have to at the very least aim for the quarter finals. But then again, even if you do secure your spot for Code S by getting to the quarter finals, you can still end up falling to Code A later. So if my opponent lets his guard down just because he was able to get to the Ro8, then he's going to lose to me and put himself in danger of falling to Code A afterwards. So I hope he doesn't drop his nervousness (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank our sponsors Red Bull, ZOWIE, and Joy Gear. I want to thank my Protoss teammates for practicing with me. I know that next season will be the final WoL season. Since I wasn't able to prove myself during the many chances I had in my past, I am going to use this last season to show my greatest form and continue to show that kind of form for HotS as well.
