Why do countries like Libya, Czech, and Pakistan get 2 slots but US only gets 1?

One Nordic qualifier, two from both Pakistan and Libya. Seems adequate.

The spots in this tournament are distributed horribly. The player pool doesn't live up to the name "Electronic Sports World Cup". The biggest loser is the Nordic region.

If some of the top Scandinavians players submit applications for invites, i'm pretty sure they will get accepted simply because they are some of the best players in Europe. It's sad to see that there is only one player from this region coming through a qualifier but it's due to the local partner.

I think having players from Libya and Pakistan is a great thing and is in the true spirit of ESWC, yes they will probably get stomped and not go through the first groupstage, probably not even winning a single game, but view it like the olympics : they are the best of their country, they qualified and get the chance to compete in one of the greatest stage of their game, it's probably a one in a lifetime opportunity for those guys.

Also the sole fact of having qualifiers in those country that are usually left out of the esport bubble is a good thing for growing awareness of ESPORTS all around the world.

Cheer up, there is only 9 out of 32 players announced yet, i'm sure there will be a world class tournament next month in Paris !

They probably don't wanna pay the extra money for a plane ticket from US to EU

Slot 19 will be Mack "Petraeus" Smith, not Glade, as he'll be going to MLG instead.

Russia, Nordic, German, Polish, Canadian communities are more worthy of complaining. The USA kind of fell off in terms of sc2 talent, most its players are PR players.

edit: Most of its known players at least. Don't know about the underground players much.
