I will check with the Australian partner about this. What is your source?

Bit disappointed that mouzMana who got second place did not get invited and there was no Polish qualifier.
The good thing is that there are still open qualifiers.

Local companies can organize ESWC qualifications. They pay a fee per slot and send their winning players to Paris. So its up to the local organizer. Not ESWC.

Well, for me, its all up to the ESWC how they have chosen to organize qualifiers or what partners they have found.

Libya and Pakistan gets 4 slots? I'm confused. I hope that there is a growing starcraft scene and that these less known e-sport countries can catapult forward. I'm doubtful that Libya and Pakistan participation will make a mark both in France and back home. However it's cool to see new countries at least be given an opportunity to prove themselves and that's one downside to the WCS.

What an interesting mix of players and nations. I hope the Libyan players do well, since I'm sure this'll be the first that many hear about Esports there.

No slot for Canada?

That sucks.

Edit:

Better phrased like this I suppose:

Why do countries like Libya, Czech, and Pakistan get 2 slots but US only gets 1?

Russia, Nordic, German, Polish, Canadian communities are more worthy of complaining. The USA kind of fell off in terms of sc2 talent, most its players are PR players.

edit: Most of its known players at least. Don't know about the underground players much.

I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Nope, quakerix explained why higher in the thread. But yeah, that sucks : (
Many countries have really good players but no organization wanting to make such qualifiers. But there are 6 slots for those "forgotten" countries so... there is still a chance ; )
