Q: This is the first time you qualified for the Code S semi-finals. How does it feel?
A: I almost never won during practice, but when I reach the studio I just manage to play very well. I'm quite puzzled about it myself. Even personally, I thought I played great. It's just so magical.

Q: Your strategies worked right from the start. Your 4-gate in the first game was successful.
A: I originally wanted to play a more standard game. MC kept blocking my gas though, and that made me think he didn't want to play a standard game with me. As a result, I just improvised and used a 4-gate.

Q: Were you in a slightly bad situation in game 2?
A: If MC had attacked immediately, it would have been a really risky situation for me. I felt the game was going to be really hard, but because MC played overly safe, I had a chance. Actually, I was in a really bad position after that too, but in the big battle at the end, my control was slightly better than MC's.

Q: You used a 4-gate in the third game, but there was a supply block.
A: It did not happen. The plan was to build a pylon near my opponent's base, but the probe got destroyed (laughs). Afterwards, when I saw that my opponent was producing phoenixes, I thought that if I amassed enough of an army and attacked, the attack should be successful.

Q: Your strategies were all successful today.
A: Not all the strategies that I prepared in practice were successful, but the judgments which I made during the games were all correct.

Q: Your opponent in the semi-finals is aLive. Have you seen yesterday's interview with him?
A: I saw it (laughs). He is unlike other Terrans. He fights really well with a 200 food army. I'd rather not play into the late-game for PvT, but his ability in dragging games to the late game is really good. I'm going to have to practise a lot.

Q: aLive called you a small mountain, and he called MC a big mountain.
A: I acknowledge that too. I haven't been able to get good results all these while. For the semi-finals, we'll have to see on the actual day. I tend to play better than usual in the actual games (laughs).

Q: You've been winning against really strong players since the round of 32.
A: If I don't manage to win the tournament after beating all those players, it'd feel like such a waste. I think that it is going to be me and DongRaeGu in the finals.

Q: Any last things you want to add?
A: I want to thank the players who helped me practise, including Chinese player gljim (Jim from team TyLoo), MoOk, Avenge, finale, Vampire, Mentalist. I'm sorry to the players I don't remember (laughs).

Q: What are your thoughts on making it to the Code S semi-finals for the first time?
A: When I advanced to the round of 8, I was really happy, but it's a little different now. After I saw my opposition in the quarter-finals, I started looking forward to the finals. Now, all that's on my mind is to reach the finals.

Q: You won 3:0 against your opponent, who was a really good up and coming player.
A: Even though he is my dear brother, I've seen how he seemed to be revered and praised so much recently, and I thought I should be the one to defeat him. I want to let him know that as he advances in the tournament, things become different.

Q: In the game before yours, Genius made it to the semi-finals.
A: That definitely affected me. Since some time ago, I've had the feeling that we might meet in the finals, but today's game was the big hurdle. When I saw he actually beat MC 3:0, I just thought I must not lose. If I had lost even a game today, I would have been teased a lot by Genius.

Q: What did you think of the games against Parting today?
A: I think when it comes to PvP and PvT, he is one of the strongest Protosses around. I feel that his PvZ is still a bit lacking though. He also has the tendency of making mistakes in the first game. If he is able to improve on these few points, I believe he will become a really great player.

Q: Recently, many Zergs have been saying that it's difficult playing against Protosses
A: It was really difficult during practice. Yesterday in practice, I lost 9 out of the 10 games I played. I practised this morning as well, and the results were disastrous. Strangely though, I play better than usual when it comes to the actual competition. I usually can play to the same level as I do during my practice, but it seems like my opponents usually aren't able to play to the best of their abilities.

Q: You are the only Zerg in the semi-finals.
A: It's a heavy load on my shoulders, but it feels good. I am very happy that there are many fans that have taken an interest towards me, and there are many Zergs around me who gave me a lot of help. If I manage to win the whole tournament as the only remaining Zerg, I will feel even happier.

Q: Genius frequently mentions in his interviews that it is likely that both of you will meet in the finals.
A: I had my fortune read at the beginning of this year, and it said that February and March are my lucky months (laughs). I think there is a real probability that we will meet in the finals, but I feel that I will be the eventual winner. I think it is likely he can make it to the finals.

Q: Your semi-final opponent will be Gumiho. It's a ZvT. Are you very confident?
A: I practised a lot of ZvP recently, so I was actually hoping to continue playing ZvPs. There are more things I have to prepare if it is a ZvT, and Gumiho is really good at ZvT. However, I have more experience in that match-up as compared to my opponent, and my record in ZvT is pretty decent. If I am lucky with the maps, I should have a good chance of winning.

Q: All the players in the semi-finals are there for the first time, except you, because you have made it to the Blizzard Cup finals before.
A: I have to win (laughs). I think I am lucky with how the brackets in the round of 8 are set up. I already planned ahead for the opponents that I am going to meet, and I think I should be able to win the tournament.

Q: Any last things you want to add?
A: I want to thank the team mates who practised with me. and I also want to thank my family and friends for cheering for me. Finally, Nestea hyung helped me a lot for today's games. He said that since I defeated him, I have to win the tournament. I will try my best to do that, and also treat Nestea hyung to a meal. He is really a great help to me.

Interesting. Both of them say that they did worse in practice, but somehow managed to get clutch wins in the booth.

And ZvP looks to still be really hard for DRG, apparently.

Nothing hilarious or shocking in these interviews, but definitely interesting.

I'm really unsure of whether Genius is extremely humble or that he really thinks his performance is a fluke.

Either way I want him to win it all :p

Yea!!~ Actually I have a feel Genius will win MC. but ...! Because MC is 3 times GSL winner, I default vote him win against Genius. Regret~~

Now I wan Genius to win and win. Or else I will be angry at him. At least final with Dong Rae Gu?

I still favor DRG over Genius kekeke . Even though he is better looking.

I don't get it how DRG can lose 9 out of 10 games against his teammates in practices?! Whenever he plays he usually crushes his enemies in a team leagues or individual leagues. They are obviously cheating, its the only explanation of such a poor results in practices or there is some kind of handicap set for DRG to make things more difficult for him. I just dont get it.

Why is it everytime Genius plays super solid, he claims that he never practiced or was doing badly in practice?

From listening to MVP interviews you'd think none of them win more than 25% outside of tournaments lol!

Why does DRG refers to Parting as "my dear brother"?
Is that some translated title or are they just that good friends?
