===================================
Pro-maps for the next OSL have recently been confirmed, of which, the new map <815> has already caught a significant amount of attention.
On July 11, OGN sent out the three new maps to all pro-teams. <815> suddenly became a hot topic of discussion.
<815> has a brand new idea which could potentially open up another level in map making. <815> is a half-island map, it’s elevated starting locations are connected to the middle section via very narrow pathways. For Terran, only SCVs and bionics can march through; Protoss, Probes and Zealots; Zerg, Drone, Zergling and Hydralisks. Thus, it will turn into an island warfare during the mid- or late-games.
Progamers expressed different opinions after seeing this map: “The naturals don’t have Geysers, it definitely favours Protoss” “Zerg players have better odds” “It’s a half-island map, Terran will be the most beneficial race”
OGN expresses: “Our goal is to make unique maps, not the most balanced. If all we care for is balance, it’s not that hard to do on an ordinary terrain. What’s more important is to provide unique and interesting maps for our viewers and fans, which is why we released <815>."
The next OSL will consist of the following four maps: 815, Ride of Valkyries, Neo Forte and a map from MBC.

neat idea but I don't see how this won't turn into a more or less basic semi-island for anything but tvz. actually any z match up

Is <815> actually the map's final name? What sort of map name is that :O Is there some significance to it?

The ramps are really narrow? Interesting. I think games could be either island style or land style, depending on the players' actions. Terran being able to build buildings in base then lift to mainland seems a bit advantageous early game since its safer and you get units in your main. But I think the island expansions will encourage alot of drops and island style play too. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

i dont know what to think, i wanna say that toss with have and advantage, but then i again im not really sure, i wanna see some games played on it

I tried this once with thin catwalk, but units couldn't actually walk through it (they could stand in parts of it). I firgued it was impossible.

Korea was free of Japanese imperialism. Kind of like Korean independence day. But I'm not sure if this map's name, "815" is related to what I said.
Probably maker of this map just named it in a random way, like you could make a map and name it 911.

I've thought of this idea before. I think it might prove a little bit interesting for a while but once it loses its novelty it will be played less and less.
