It's not a necro, but a last update. The website is in the finishing stages of being built. All graphics are finished and just need to be applied to the streams. Hiring 1 producer to fill a vacant spot
http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/viwcb/hiring_semipro_league_has_one_open_producer/
And sponsorship deals are being worked out with Kingston and Antec already on board officially. Still have to work a little with Tt esports and ASUS. See you all next month

*UPDATE 4/12/12*
Here is the new stories! I've rehired the 8th producer again and we are down to only 3 casting positions left. I know there are a bunch of you out there that have what it takes, it's just a matter of you connecting to me.
I spent all this past weekend (except Sunday, that was Easter) at PAXEast chatting with current and future potential sponsors. Our current sponsors are Kingston, Cooler Master, and NZXT. We may be able to add ASUS, Antec, MSI, EVGA, Geekchic, and Mesa Mundi. The last two don't have anything to do with computer parts, which is a huge thing tbh. It will be another step forward in e-sports for finding sponsors that see the value in our product and the market they can reach.
I also spoke with several game companies about getting early access to be able to stream and look into seeing them as a competitive sport. The future and added content looks good

*UPDATE 3/21/12*
Not much has really moved forward except for advancing in some locations. I'm still hiring and chatting with casters. There is no region lock on it, except for being in NA. I do still need you to have some prior experience and the ability to stream the game on "medium" at 720p minimum.
I did have one producer step down, so there is a job opening there. If you have applied before, or think you have the gusto and leadership to step up, email me at Drogith@nesc2league.com
Aside from that, I've been in conversations with another group going in a similar manner as mine, but with different games. They are called IGL, the International Gaming League and you can find them on twitter, facebook, and their website (being built). Anyway, we are working on a partnership between the leagues, so we already have MORE content to give you guys on the streaming channels, aside from SC2 action and nothing to take away from the epicness!

*UPDATE 3/5/12*
It's been a while since I updated last, but I wanted to wait until I finished all my meetings. I have met with both my admins and producers and gave contact info to all of them. All I have left to do is hire casters, and we are done with that side of this project and will start/continue/finish work on the website and coordinating with other e-sport centric groups. This is the fun part as I get to listen to other people chat and I think there are maybe 12 open spots left.
So in short, I have some caster spots open and some resumes, but if you HAVE CASTED BEFORE, shoot an email to drogith@nesc2league.com with some links. If you haven't casted before, please don't apply, we don't have enough time to get you running for launch. I'm also looking for some help graphically. In particular, twitch page graphics... and speaking of which, we have a team page!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*UPDATE 2/21/12*
All producers and admins have been hired and I will be meeting with both groups very soon. Now it is time to start hiring casters and I do have a good list of players as is. If you are interested, make sure you have some experience casting and can stream in good quality. I purchased XSplit premium licenses for all the streams, so we don't have to worry about that. I am looking for graphics people for logos and BGs for twitters and Twitch pages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*UPDATE 2/8/12*
Doing another hiring spree. FInishing up on some admins now and starting to chat with casters.

*UPDATE 2/2/12*
So I have been busy hiring staff for this project. We have 6 of 8 producers, 3 of 8 admins, and 4 of 16 casters and I STILL have plenty of apps to go through. rest...

I also want to point out that talks with sponsors are going well and the prospect of making this 100% FREE is looking really good.
*UPDATE 1/12/12*

I just wanted to give everyone an update so far as a lot of people don't read all the way through a thread... me included sometimes. Current negotiations with sponsors are going very good and it looks like I will be able to make this free. There are still job openings for casters, admins, and producers based off of regions. You can go here to see what the jobs entail and where you can shoot an email to apply. I am just about ready to start actually hiring people into positions. I've also been in some chats with MLG about working with them in a few ways. Very exciting btw. More info to come when CES is over.
Some of you know me, but for those who don't; My name is Drogith and I am the founder of the New England SC2 League. I have organized and run 10 successful LAN events, many of which were streamed live, here on TL. In the past year in the New England area and have received many comments about people wishing they had something like it in their area. Well, I can't do it in person, but online? That's an idea.
Now what if we pitted each region against each other after a tournament?
I won't give out many of the details, but it looks like something like this is being put together. The details I can give you are as follows:
- Online bi-monthly open tournaments
- Online bi-monthly invite tournaments(every other from above)
- Tournaments are based on 8 geographical regions
- Cash prizes
- Low entry fees ($15 for open tournaments)
- No pro players with salaries
- E-Fame
- Opportunities for community casters and tournament admins for each region.
So I wanted to take an interest poll based on regions as to who would be interested in participating in this league.

Like I said, the regions are based off of geographic location, not population densities. Splitting up the regions by population was attempted... but that left 15 regions, not the nice 8. Do note that this would not be happening for at least 6 months due to the time it takes to organize something like this, without any major backing.
I will be more than happy to answer anyone's questions posted in this thread and look forward to hearing from many of you on this concept. If you want to help, shoot me a PM and we can chat.
