The time has come for our fourteenth IGN Pro League Team Arena! This is a (follow closely) weekly winner's format team king of the hill showmatch series. For better clarification, check out our
IPL Team Arena General Discussion thread!

(Wiki)IPL Team Arena

Stream Link: http://www.ign.com/ipl

When: Friday, Dec 02 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Friday, Dec 02 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))

Prizes

The first team to defeat everyone on the opposing team's roster (5 wins, or a best of 9) will earn $500 for their team to split however they want. To make things even more interesting, we are including a $100 bounty for each victory that a team earns, for new challengers to try and claim. For example, if a team wins 3 weeks in a row, they will have earned themselves $1,500 total, and have $300 worth of bounty on them. If a new team defeats them, they will earn the $500 for winning the week, as well as claim the $300 bounty.

SlayerS is the fourth team to win the IPL Team Arena, and they have earned themselves $2,500 and a $500 bounty on their heads. TyLoo is our first Chinese team to participate in IPL Team Arena, and they stand as good a chance as anyone at taking out the current champions. They are underdogs for sure due to their relative anonymity, but they are anxious to show their skills to the world. Here are their full rosters:

Didn't see this coming when you said we should redefine what we think as foreign teams.

Uhen and Jim are pretty good from what I've seen, but yeah, no way Slayers loses.

This is going to be a slaughter.

But maybe Infi will make an appearance -- unless he's too busy jerking off TH000, I guess.

Clide should be in the slayers roster aswell! ;-)
I doubt slayers will lose but I root for Tyloo so we can see some interesting games.

lol, chinese team. Slayers could send out Jessica and still go 5-0. I wish China was doing as well as they did in WC3, but it just aint happening. I hope that turns around soon, as the BW pros are slowly coming out of BW Korea.. O_O

I don't know the team either, but it's obviously a chinese team. Come on guys, think a bit :O
Edit : I dont know anyone but Infi and i don't know his current level as well, so kinda hard to tell how good they are ( i mean they're obviously gonna loose, since it's Slayers, but..)

While it's true TyLoo is not well known, this tournament called Stars War 6 is to me the best example of how good Chinese players actually are at StarCraft 2: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/StarsWar_Killer_6

Just look at those brackets and see that 3 of the top 4 were Chinese players. It is true though that none of them were on TyLoo, but it does show that just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they won't surprise you. =)

On the other hand that tournement is quite long ago and at the more recent IEM in china the chinese representives kinda failed.

They might have a shot, honestly, but....... yeah, its time for IM or oGs to make a showing, honestly.... Slayers won't have any issues.

Should be pretty interesting, however I don't think SlayerS will have a problem beating TyLoo.

China is the great unknown in terms of SC2 right now...we know they've got great players, but unfortunately opportunities to see them in action are few and far between. I'm for sure tuning in, who knows, maybe TyLoo is really good

Great to see the Chinese scene gain some exposure. China is a huge market, and with millions of gamers, I am sure that many of them would follow competitive SC2. I wonder if these matches will be broadcasted in China.

Slayers wins this though...

To be fair to them, none of their really top players showed up, except for XiGua, who never really impressed me, though his ZvP wasn't bad. xiaOt quit a while back, which is a shame; during the time of the StarsWar tournament, he was the best Chinese Protoss and showed off some incredible games with great decision-making and crisis management. I honestly thought he was at least Code A level at the time. Then his team got bought out twice and now he's a manager.

SC2 in general was pretty much a flop in China more so than it was in Korea. All the top Chinese progamers are still playing War3 and just mess around in SC2 from time to time (see: Infi), kind of like Lyn and Moon except probably even less seriously than those two.

My bet? TyLoo proves to be a greater challenge to Slayers than most foreign teams...

We got so few opportunities to watch chinese players in action, thanks a lot to IPL!

isn't that the tournament where half the games were played on the china server and genius ragequit and forfeited because it was lagging too hard?

On the plus side though, both teams have pretty sexy logos
