Hello TeamLiquid.
Recently, there was an application posted here by a person named Xanbatou. He created an application for Zerg users to help get the timings down for larva injects. (Original thread: Here)
I offered him some input on a method that would make the program more efficient for the user, but he declined it. So I decided to make my own application that uses this more efficient method. I've also extended the functionality to Terran and Protoss aswell.
The purpose of this application is to help people become more comfortable with the timings of the various macro mechanics of each race (spawn larva, chrono boost and the MULE.) This is NOT meant to be a permanent replacement for knowing the timings. It is merely a method to make the beginner user more aware of the correct timings.
Please note, all this application does is enhance the default notification system that Blizzard uses in the game to make it more apparent, as well as giving an auditory notification.
Screenshot explaining what it does, and how it differs from the default system: + Show Spoiler +
If you have any comments/suggestions, feel free to post them in this thread or send me a PM. Please try to keep the "zomg this is cheating and should be banned" discussion out of this thread. There is nothing in this program that is against the terms of service. It does not interact with the SC2 client in any way. If you feel that this is cheating, then you should take it up with Blizzard and demand that they remove their in-game notifications aswell, because it is essentially the same thing.

I understand that these sound good in theory but from my own experiences, this would train me to react to the app and I would be better of learning it naturally.
It may be different for other people but I think this would do players more harm in the long run than help them. Also, it does feel like it is cheating to an extent.

i dont think you need that for mules or chronoboost also it gets really difficult with the larva thing once it gets to more and more bases

I edited my post above.

After downloading this file, my avg virus scan picked up a direct keylogger (I cannot confirm if it is related to this file). I strong advise caution when downloading this file.
When I downloaded it and selected "Run" my ie closed and sc2 opened. After that nothing else happened and my avg then triggured. I'm scanning the file with jotti right now to make sure this isn't the case, so far no scan has found anything. I assure you this is no key logger, so I'm not sure what would make AVG thing that. Also about your starcraft opening, that is a side effect of the method I used to ensure that if you accidentally clicked the app while playing it wouldn't interfere. It shouldn't "open" your starcraft, it should bring it to the foreground though. (Also it shouldn't close IE, I have a feeling that was your virus scanner that did that)
Edit: Jotti says nothing found at all, I've added the link to the scan in the main post. Make sure the MD5/SHA1 hash of the file is the same as what I edited into the OP, or what jotti says.

Yes it just tabbed my current window back to the Starcraft window, avg seems to be screwing with me, sorry about this, i'll re edit my frst post so I don't scare off any potential downloaders for your app.

Well the file is certainly clean I believe.
I don't understand, what does it do it actually do? Would be useful if you could make a youtube video or just explain what it does rather than saying it's there to help.

I'm aganist this. Acording to blizzard using this kind of aplications is cheating. I do not care if they ban people using this or not, but in a strategy game, when propper responses and reactions are suposed to be rewarded, this is cheating. Just my opinion.

Did you read the OP? He said to keep posts like this out of the thread.

Like I've already said, this doesn't do anything that isn't already in the game. If you don't like it, talk to Blizzard.
Edit: The OP is edited with a screenshot explaining what it does

Hey I downloaded this just to see exactly how it worked but how do you turn it off or uninstall? It doesn't come up anywhere.

Technically cheating. Won't get caught, but its definitely against the terms of use agreement. Just sayin.
I'm all for people contributing to the community, but I feel this is borderline shouldnt-be-allowed on TL stuff.
It is of questionable-at-best 'training' value (I would personally say zero training value-- if you want to get better as a player, learn your timings, don't rely on an artificial crutch), but it potentially gives you an artificial, non-skill-based advantage over an opponent who doesn't use it, while at the same time violating terms of use. I don't know why these threads are tolerated.

I have no idea where it went to and I closed sc2 and rebooted my computer but it won't go away =[

Also as an FYI: Blizzard provides these notifications to developers without having to hook any kind of API. Do a little research before you try and accuse it of being against the terms of service.

Section 2.b.:
Additional License Limitations. The license granted to you in Section 1 above is subject to the limitations set forth in Sections 1 and 2 (collectively, the “License Limitations”). Any use of the Game in violation of the License Limitations will be regarded as an infringement of Blizzard’s copyrights in and to the Game. You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:
B. Use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the Game experience, including without limitation, mods that violate the terms of this License Agreement or the Terms of Use;
OP writes that:

This is correct-- interacting with the SC2 client would be a violation of 2.D which states that you will not, under any circumstances:
Use any unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Game or the Service, including without limitation any software that reads areas of RAM used by the Game to store information; provided, however, that Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces;
But this is in general not important as it is still in violation of 2.B.

Keyword is unauthorized. Read my post.
Edit: It also doesn't modify anything, so what you quoted is wrong on two fronts.
