Has this become a familiar sight on your Wednesday night? I hope no one took this idea while i am writing this thread or I will be annoyed! Anyways, enough about that, lets get on with the show! (man this intro is a load of $#!T)
ANYWAYS, after reading this thread here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=267855#7 i was inspired to make a thread called 'how do you have your GSL' which basically asks very simply... how do you watch it.
The GSL has become for me, and i think for many of us, a replacement for our prime time sport, whether it be american football, soccer, NBA or here in Australia, friday night footy. It is just so amazing to watch and admire all of the players delivering their breathtaking builds with unnatural precision, and in my opinion is the best sport in the world, but this is another topic
So when that special time comes every night (7:10 pm here, absolutely PERFECT), how do you watch your GSL. I think a beautiful thing about the GSL is that it is streamed from your laptop so you can watch it anywhere, and the probability that no one else in your family watches it means that you can admire the tournament in peace. So what is your setup?
Is it like this mans whom i drew the inspiration from this thread:
or this random dude watching from two screens?
Whatever your comfort zone, share it with us and maybe we can adapt some of your techniques that makes GSL that much more fun
My GSL I always crank my electric blanket on full, get a huge bowl of fruit and yogurt (tastes soo goood) , turn the lights of and enjoy a night of GSL. Best night of the week, filled with prime time code S material. This is one of those things you will look back on with a sense of nostalgia and good times (who needs nights out at night clubs with hot chicks anways! lol ahahahahahaahahehehohoho waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa )
enjoy sharing!

i make a pot of coffee and hope i don't fall asleep during the games, cuz it starts at 4:00 am here x.x
|
I just watch the vods, code s usually happens at 11:10 a.m. my time so I either watch it live because I can (pretty much wake up, get something to eat, get some coffee and drink/eat that while I watch) or I just watch vods over the course of the week whenever I feel like it.

Beer and a frozen pizza i just stick in the micro wave, followed by waffles with nutella and maple syrup
then the next day im always at the gym burning that shit off Lolz

I watch it in my living room on my 46" lcd tv. I have bought the VODs for every GSL since they stopped lagging and introduced HQ VODs.
I have to agree, it's my replacement of more traditional sports which never really got me interested - the action was just too slow. SC2 on the other hand is full of non-stop action and you can really see when players crack under pressure, get cocky or whatever.
GSL code A, round 32 spoiler + Show Spoiler +MakaPrime vs Sase being a great example of that. A great series, if you haven't watched it, you are missing out

Basically, I get home from work around 1am. Just in time to read up on the hype before listening to more pregame hype (k-pop). Once the cast starts I start some dinner and by the time the first match gets heated up I'm sitting on my bed in my studio (screaming, sometimes) while my girlfriend is asleep cuz she's got class in the morning. That's about how every weeknight goes during GSL seasons.

I don't watch GSL because I'd rather play myself, or watch another foreigner stream (unless DRG plays), I've gotten super tired of Terran winning everything, and have 20/32 of them Terran is a bit silly, I really don't see myself watching GSL live like I do other foreigner tournaments.
|
GSL on one screen, twitter feed on the other, Pepsi + Massive bag of crisps. Win.
Usually watch it alone, but sometimes get my girlfriend in on it too if its gonna be a good set.
|
I have it on my 42" Plasma while having breakfast.

Haha, nice. I hook my laptop up to my TV, but it's not quite 46 inches. My 32 inch TV is sufficient enough, though.

Starts at 9:10pm here, and I work early... so the main way I watch my GSL is by hoping that the players I want to watch (the foreigners and the Protoss, and especially the foreigner Protoss) are in the first set of matches of the night!
|
The GSL starts 11.10 am here in Sweden so I'll write "client meeting" on my schedule, close the door to my office and make sure I can tab really fast...
|
do homework while having it on HQ on my widescreen monitor only look at it when casters start yelling
|
watching GSL and playing poker to not fall asleep during all the TvTs
|
It plays off my HDTV while i surf the web, the Tastosis commentary radiates off the TV set and goes right into my head =)

Epic baller move. If only they had a secret camera installed in the corner of your office... and your boss like watches the GSL through the spycam :D

I generally watch it on my 42-inches television while sitting on the sofa with my wife Occasionally, I will watch it on my tablet while in bed or on the toilet seat (poopoo tablets ftw, seriously those things are made for that).
|
I only watch because a) im European and not very often during GSL and b) unfixed router issues which won't allow me to watch live.
I watch the vods when I get home during dinner and then depending how interested I am in the players I just watch the whole match(es) or I just mute the stream (escpecially with code a commentators), turn music on and do other stuff while gsl is running on the second screen. However after ro4/8 I normally watch the whole match
|
I pop it on my main monitor, chuck the LR thread on my second monitor, tell people in the thread the stream has started and curse GOM for not updating the kpop.
Then enjoy it and try to be witty and eloquent in the thread.
And thank my parents for being Australian lol.
Also basically just check stuff on the internet when a Protoss plays because that aint fun.
