EPTI've started reading this Forum more, though as you can see, I'm a first time poster.
Right now I'm a Plat Protoss for season 3...I'm not great, but I think I'm pretty decent. I have an average APM of 80-100 (I only posted this because people like background on OP).
This may seem like a difficult/intangible thing to achieve, but could a bunch of this Forum contribute to creating a large common timing chart/list for each race? It would be a collaboration of many members (such as the 1000 tips for SC thread).
For example, under Protoss timings,
DT- 7 or 8 minute mark
2 base with ~3 collossus deathball- around 13 minutes
*These timings may not be perfect, but are just an example.
As I've learned more about SC2, I've learned that a lot of it is timing. If you can attack while the other person is expanding/teching, and therefore has less units, you may have a huge advantage.
This would be beneficial for people playing AGAINST the race that they look up on the chart. E.g. Zerg is playing vs protoss, scouts only double gas with few sentries, it's the 8.5 minute mark, so they figure it's not DTs (not a perfectly example but I hope it helps articulate my idea).
I've searched on here, and haven't found a chart/list of timings. I was only thinking that common timings would be on here for popular strategies, e.g. the above strategies, terran 1 base marine/tank, protoss 2 base stalker/sentry, etc.
Thoughts? Could this work? I think it'd be helpful to many people to have all of these timings listed in a central location.
