We will have select matches streamed live through the day and we will be able to let a few people try out casting if they wish. Check out the stream at http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/routinetrafficstop
Tournament format:
The tournament follows standard double elimination format. Each round is Bo3 until the finals which will be Bo5. Each round in the winners bracket and elimination bracket will have a set map for the first game, subsequent games thereafter will be loser picks. After a match is completed we will have a website where you report results and they will be updated and posted online and on my designated laptop so we have a visible up to date bracket to keep the tournament flowing.
The map pool:
The pool includes some of the old/new blizzard maps and a few GSL/MLG maps: Xel'Naga Caverns, Shakuras Plateau, Metalopolis, The Shattered Temple, Backwater Gulch, Bel'Shir Beach (xel naga tower version), Testbug MLG, Typhon Peaks, Terminous RE, Dual Sight, Crevasse, and Tal'Darim Altar.
Here is the starting map for each round (for upper/elimination brackets both). R1: Xel'Naga Caverns R2: Metalopolis R3: Dual Sight R4: Testbug each round after these will repeat in order i.e. R5 = Xel'Naga Caverns R6: Metalopolis etc...
(remember losing player picks the next map)
*note* these 4 rotating maps are great ones to practice for the event. Also to simplify there will be no map veto's/exclusions.
Breakdown of prize money/donations:
1/2 of entry fee goes to the prize pool. 60% of the pool goes to the diamond-masters bracket with 40% of the pool going to the bronze-plat bracket. The prizes will be given out in the form of visa/mc gift cards.
Example With a 200$ prize pool (anticipated but not guaranteed - any differences in the pool will be adjusted proportionally to the diagram below)
Diamond-Masters
1st: $60
2nd: $40
3rd: $20
Bronze-Platinum
1st: $40
2nd: $25
3rd: $15
All donations will be split between providing more pizza, raffle prizes, and increased tournament placement prizes (unless the donor specifies the donation to go to a raffle prize or a alternate prize like the top finishing bronze/silver player for example)
Raffle:
Last TCO we had a raffle at the end of the tournament for people who showed their support and stayed for the whole day. We gave away 2 20$ best buy gift cards. However the raffle is totally dependent upon donations received by participants/spectators.
Pizza/soda pop:
We will also take donations for Pizza as well. Due to my finances I will not be able to spend as much on pizza out of my own pocket like I did before so if you want pizza I suggest to chip in a few bucks. We will get as many 5$ little Caesars pizzas we can get with whatever is chipped in. I will however be providing pop for free like last time. LWG also has pop and snacks available for sale.
Final notes:
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! PM me or email me (routinetrafficstop@gmail.com subject "TCO ?").
Thank you so much for coming. I want to give a special thanks to everyone who helped at the last event! I am still looking for a couple of co-casters and a few volunteers to help set up and tear down. We always accept donations for pizza and the raffle/drawing at the end of the night. If you have any questions or wish to make a donation/volunteer to help with the event email me at routinetrafficstop@gmail.com
Below in the spoiler tag a color flyer and a black and white flyer for the event.
