We will continue to accept registrations we reach 40 participants or 11am the day of the tournament (whichever comes first). If you do not show up by 11am CDT your reserved spot will be given away to our waiting list. Opening matches will begin promptly at 12pm!
Cost: 10$ registration fee for participants and a 5$ suggested donation for spectators. This is a bring your own computer event however 8 computers are available for rent for 20$ you need to reserve one when you register for the event.
What to bring:
Computer Monitor *LCD/flat-screen preferred* (uses less power) Cords for computer and monitor Power Strip /Surge protector keyboard Mouse Mouse Pad Headset An Ethernet cable (10ft) Registration Fee (10$) Computer rental fee (20$ only if your renting a computer for the event)
Why:
Why not! Prizes, raffle, friends, fun, and PIZZA! For those of you who attended the first tournament you can agree with me here There's a lot of networking, finding new practice partners, the chance to try casting, great starcraft play, and a chance to win a drawing at the end! We gave about 200$+ in prizes and free pizza with about 54 people participating and about 65 total with spectators. We are capping registration at 40 because we want players and spectators to be comfortable and to minimize power usage issues which occurred the last TCO. Here are some pictures from the last TCO tournament.
Tournament details:
The tournament will follow similar setup as the last TCO with a few minor changes. Signup fee is still 10$ doors open at 10am registration ends at 11am or when 40 players have signed up (whichever comes first). If you received a coupon for a discount from the last LAN please remember to bring it! If you do not wish to bring your own computer you can rent one for 20$. We are limiting registration to the first 40 people (last time we almost didn't have enough space). Registration is first come first serve. If you wish to register send an e-mail to routinetrafficstop@gmail.com subject "TCO registration" Please add your name, number, either your real id or char name and code, and your league i.e. gold/masters etc. Let me know if you wish to rent a LWG computer (20$) in the e-mail and if you wish to reserve a spot/computer for a friend(s) (2 max) please include their information as well. If you are lacking the information your spot will not be held. If 40 spots are filled and you wish to be put on a waiting list for no-shows/drops let me know. Important if you are not at LAN World Gaming by 11am your spot will be given away to someone on the waiting list. Note we prefer you show up around 10-10:30am to help set up/so we can start on time. We will have select matches streamed live through the day and we will be able to let a few people try out casting if they wish. Check out the stream at http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/routinetrafficstop
Tournament format:
The tournament follows standard double elimination format. Each round is Bo3 until the finals which will be Bo5. Each round in the winners bracket and elimination bracket will have a set map for the first game, subsequent games thereafter will be loser picks. After a match is completed we will have a website where you report results and they will be updated and posted online and on my designated laptop so we have a visible up to date bracket to keep the tournament flowing.
The map pool:
The pool includes some of the old/new blizzard maps and a few GSL/MLG maps: Xel'Naga Caverns, Shakuras Plateau, Metalopolis, The Shattered Temple, Backwater Gulch, Bel'Shir Beach (xel naga tower version), Testbug MLG, Typhon Peaks, Terminous RE, Dual Sight, Crevasse, and Tal'Darim Altar.
Here is the starting map for each round (for upper/elimination brackets both). R1: Xel'Naga Caverns R2: Metalopolis R3: Dual Sight R4: Testbug each round after these will repeat in order i.e. R5 = Xel'Naga Caverns R6: Metalopolis etc... (remember losing player picks the next map)
*note* these 4 rotating maps are great ones to practice for the event. Also to simplify there will be no map veto's/exclusions.
Breakdown of prize money/donations:
1/2 of entry fee goes to the prize pool. 60% of the pool goes to the diamond-masters bracket with 40% of the pool going to the bronze-plat bracket. The prizes will be given out in the form of visa/mc gift cards.
Example With a 200$ prize pool (anticipated but not guaranteed - any differences in the pool will be adjusted proportionally to the diagram below)
Diamond-Masters 1st: $60 2nd: $40 3rd: $20 Bronze-Platinum 1st: $40 2nd: $25 3rd: $15
All donations will be split between providing more pizza, raffle prizes, and increased tournament placement prizes (unless the donor specifies the donation to go to a raffle prize or a alternate prize like the top finishing bronze/silver player for example)
Raffle:
Last TCO we had a raffle at the end of the tournament for people who showed their support and stayed for the whole day. We gave away 2 20$ best buy gift cards. However the raffle is totally dependent upon donations received by participants/spectators.
Pizza/soda pop:
We will also take donations for Pizza as well. Due to my finances I will not be able to spend as much on pizza out of my own pocket like I did before so if you want pizza I suggest to chip in a few bucks. We will get as many 5$ little Caesars pizzas we can get with whatever is chipped in. I will however be providing pop for free like last time. LWG also has pop and snacks available for sale.
Final notes:
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! PM me or email me (routinetrafficstop@gmail.com subject "TCO ?").
Thank you so much for coming. I want to give a special thanks to everyone who helped at the last event! I am still looking for a couple of co-casters and a few volunteers to help set up and tear down. We always accept donations for pizza and the raffle/drawing at the end of the night. If you have any questions or wish to make a donation/volunteer to help with the event email me at routinetrafficstop@gmail.com
Below in the spoiler tag a color flyer and a black and white flyer for the event.

Might look into this since it's summer :D. I hope my schedule opens up.
|
right on! hope your can make it... we had a blast last April with TCO 1. Our next event after this is in the planing stages but we hope to hold at a larger venue to hold 100+ people (late August maybe). Possibly at the Radison, or another local venue that can meet our needs. If anyone has ideas on that please contact me too!
|
Our event is officially on the team liquid events calendar now. I still need a few co-casters and volunteers let me know if you can help out
Also I wanted to let people know I'm starting an e-sports show on local cable access (north metro channel 15 and streamed online) and I'm having a planning meeting for the direction I'm going to take it in 2 weeks, if you want to be apart of the show i.e. filming, editing, working on the website, participating in live showmatches, writing pieces on upcoming games/news about tournaments, or being on the production staff -- let me know!

I'll also be playing BW in between because it's the better game <3 lulz
|
sent you an email to register if u need someone to cast please hit me up!
|
Sounds good gnome! You will defiantly have the opportunity to cast a couple games, if not more depending on the circumstances.
36 spots remain
-RTS
|
You will cast each and every game, or die trying.
|
Haha its a 10 hour casting marathon!... we will be casting a game from each round, i'll cast as many as I have too but we already have had a few people volunteer their time to cast. As the day goes on and more people get eliminated I think we will have a few more volunteers as well. So i'll be able to do other things and make sure the tournament goes smoothly
|
Quick update:
There are now 33 spots left, and only 6 computers left for rent. If you plan to attend register soon especially if you wish to rent a computer.
Thank you,
-RTS

I'm getting excited 5 more people have signed up 28 spots remain and 6 computers are still available for rent.

PS if you sent me an e-mail to register and you have not received my confirmation e-mail back that means you have not been signed up. Please double check and make sure you have my e-mail address correct: routinetrafficstop@gmail.com I don't want anyone to miss out due to an error like this... thanks!
|
I have now created both a black and white and a full color flyer for the event.
Below in the spoiler tag are both of the images. Feel free to use them as needed.

great to hear perlox! It was great having supportive people like you come to the event! Hope you can make it :-D
|
I'll be there! So pumped!

I will be holding 1v1 obs practice sessions on Mondays at 9pm for players to hone their skills... if your a master leaguer or diamond leaguer and you want to help out the bronze-plat players for their tournament that would be great... or if you want to get some practice against fellow players that will be at the TCO get a feel for each others style (and then play mind games with them on the day of the event *evil laugh*) feel free to come and practice. Also if you are unable to come on the day of the tournament this will be your chance to play with some people that will be at the tournament. We can possibly use skype or my friends vent server to talk to each other. Hope to see many of you there. I think it would be best to meet up in the SC MN channel in game. Also I'm looking for input for the next TCO event (TCO 3 Midwest Open Aug 28th) I'm still looking for a viable locale and trying to figure out much of the logistics of that tournament (ie location, volunteers, sponsors, and reduced hotel/motel for those who have to travel far). Let me know if you have any ideas for that event as well.
Thanks!

sorry i showed up late to the practice session... i'm still playing a few 1v1 matches feel free to msg me noobsaibot.914
To everyone who has pre-registered or wants to pre-register I wanted to let you know the owner of Lan World would like you to stop by and pay 10 dollars or go to the website lanworldgaming.com and pay via paypal to guarantee your spot. I wanted to let you know we will honor your pre-registration but the owner had concerns so I wanted to let everyone know if you don't have payment in by 11am the day of the tournament your spot could be given to someone else. If you are able to pay before the date of the tournament that would be great too. There are still 24 spots left!
have a good one!

Can't wait to be there.ITS JUST SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I want to go so hard, but kind of doubt I can get that day off of work. Will there be any more on-line training sessions?
|
For registration, what do you mean by number? Its kind of ambiguous to me as to what you need since you also ask for our profile and char code later in the same sentence. Are you talking about phone number?
|
Yes. Your phone number. What else would it mean? lol
|
I thought it could be your Blizz profile number; the number in your B.net online profile link. I've never been asked for my phone number for a tournament registration before.
|

|
one week to go
|
Any more practice sessions before the tourny?
|
I'll hold one on Friday eve around nine... I don't have work so i'll be on for sure. Sorry I meant telephone number by number in cause you weren't on location in time (11am) and we would give you a call as a courtesy to see if you were running late before we gave a spot away.
Hope that cleared that up.
Also just over 20 people have pre-registered so we still have several spots available. If you have a friend that wants to come let them know. Tell them to shoot me a message to pre-register. Still keep in mind your spot is not guaranteed until the 10$ registration fee has been received (due by 11am 1 hour before the tournament starts)
hope to see some of you on Friday eve for some practice and by 11am on Saturday!
RTS

Is it too late to register?
EDIT: Also are there any compputers left to rent?
|
yes there are some computers left to rent... and its not too late to register we are about 65% full so there is still plenty of space and a couple of computers for rent still available.
thanks!
RTS
|
We still have several spots open and a few computers left for rent. We are still about 65% full. Walk-ins will be welcome the day of the tournament it looks like we will have space. If a few of you bring a friend to come and register we will have space for them. Also I wanted to state that we will have 20$ best buy gift card raffled off at the end of the night for those who stay around.
Hope to see a few more of you pre-register and see a few more of you show up to register the day of the tournament. Be there by 11am!!
Thanks,
RTS
|
Tell your friends! Still about 15 or so spots left! Bring a friend/tell a friend if for some reason we have a person or two over forty we can accommodate you don't feel like its too late to sign up/come!

Also there will be opportunities for people to cast games if they wish!
thanks and much love,
Aaron Miles (RTS)
