Some key dates:
The Season 2 lock will go into effect on Tuesday, July 5 at 5:00 AM PDT.
During morning maintenance on Tuesday, July 19, Season 2 will end and Season 3 will begin.
So, if you like play the Season 2 ladder maps, cherish what time you may have left. Anyone think that we might see a round of bans coming with the new season as well, given the recent very-public drop-hacking of top GM players?
I think that I thought was curious was this:
During the Season 2 lock, you can no longer be promoted or demoted out of your current league or division, and your bonus pool will stop growing.
Does anyone remember if this was the case with the Season 1 lock? I don't remember but I wonder if this is a new thing they are doing for the Season 2 lock?

Seemed like season 2 was so short. But im glad new maps will come into rotation

I'm surprised they're not giving more time for those season 3 maps they revealed. Will they even be tested on PTR? Or have they decided to just wing it and have shorter seasons in case the maps turn out to have some imbalance issues?

Yes, they did lock the ladder before season 2 as well. (referring to OPs last question)
edit: to be more clear, i mean they did prevent anyone from being promoted or demoted, and stopped the bonus pool from growing

We barely had time to play the Season 2 ladder maps. And now we're jumping right into Season 3? Not only that, the new maps to my knowledge haven't been tested yet, and they look so terribly designed...

Haven't been able to access PTR after multiple tries. I'm a bit worried about the new maps.

I for once promote these new maps, and hope to get rid with some of those that we have to drag with for so long. Crapstation for example!
My MMR is higher now than my rank but it doesnt matter since the reset in 19th july if I start playing much again then I would be higher rank then now? Or does anyone know how it works?!

Wonder how they will do the GM league when the new season starts. If you get into it after one placement match or not etc.

Season 2 wasn't short at all, and there's no point making seasons last 8 months.... Map rotation will be welcome and will encourage more people to start ladder again.

How much do you want to bet Tal'Darim and Shakuras get cut from the ladder pool?

If they cut maps, they'll cut the less popular ones, blizzard aint that dumb.
So hope they'll cut Slag pit, scrap station and delta quadrant <.<
