Yeah, back in patch 1.2! You just can't place into the highest league available, which now is Grandmaster. So yes you can place directly into Master now.

Sorry if this was already asked and answered, but will there be a 2 week startup time to determine your new league again? Or lets say my MMR is high enough for grandmaster will I be put in grand master straight away after the first placement match? Or will it be like last season where everyone had two weeks to increase their MMR before grand master was put in place?

The two week period only applies to GM qualification, it doesn't apply to any other leagues.

Anyone know what specific time the new season starts, like what time in the morning? I want to get a head start and get a good spot before everything is filled up (don't know if this is actually how it works).

is 26th US time? so worldwide would be 27th? or does all server start season 3 at their own time

It would be when the servers come up from maint so SEA would start first and than the US, Europe, etc.

On EU it will reset on 27th

for this season, is promotion/return to the GM league locked for 2 weeks again? (meaning GM league will be unlocked 2 weeks after July 26th?)

I'm guessing NA will reset at the normal maintenance time (its like 9 a.m. Pacific US right?).

SEA Season 3 came up at 12:00pm local time, on the 26th. After several hours maintinence. So if that's the normal maintinence time it will probably come up after that, or perhaps at midday the same as SEA.

anyone see any posts about maint? Login just shows the "fun or not" problem.
